What are you willing to give up to improve

Genuinely wondering what you guys are willing to move or deal in order to get help and improve. The only way I see them adding meaningful pieces is to have to give up something of value because no one's gonna just help you out.

thanks for making the team in 2019-20, you know the season that is over, with a team with 7 UFAs, a guy who left for russia and 7 RFAs with their old salaries shown. super helpful.

ill trade anyone but eichel or dahlin at the right price

Interesting. Has anyone thought about making a move for someone like Robert Thomas from the Blues. Not saying they'd trade him, but I think that could be a fascinating move as they still have Schenn and O'Reilly.

That wasn't the point, it was simply to spark a reasonable conversation. It's pretty obvious the year is done, but whatever. Have a nice day.

When did Philly trade Couturier to St. Louis?

Thats a pretty big difference lol. I get your point though. Idk if Buffalo wants to do any more deals with St. Louis though after getting fleeced in the ROR trade

I get that, but with that logic teams wouldn't trade with anyone because of the tendency of moves to not always work out for the best.

Trade Ristolainen and Montour.
2nd line center.
Draft a forward 8th overall.
Trade the 2021 first round pick.
Go after lower free agents like Fast or Levio to fill out RW depth.
That should be the plan this summer.

It depends on the targeted player! I would hate to see Reinhart or Olofson go out but if it is bringing in a legit 2C than the idea HAS to be at least discussed

8 overall, 2021 first, Reinhart, Montour, Risto to narrow it down. Depending on the return

Who would you target as a second line center? Would you just be trading Montour and Risto for picks or similar players? I like the plan to add depth with Fast being a solid player to move throughout the lineup. What's the idea to moving next years 1st?

Do you think making a move for RNH with an extension of course could make sense with the 8th overall going back so Edmonton can nab a winger? I think he could be a solid addition to the lineup provided he comes with an extension.

Realistically they probably only need 1-2 years until Cozens is ready to take over at the 2c spot. Maybe Laughton he was on a 45 point pace PHI has a lot of center too, and are thin on RD, I’m maybe Adam Gaudette from Vancouver if Buffalo takes back some salary.

Honestly you guys are almost there if you can convince Eichel to give it a little more time. You've got great pieces in (Eichel, Dahlin, Johnson, Jokiharju, Ukko, Reinhart, a winger with this years 8th pick and Cozens). A transition center to bridge the gap may be what you guys need like Stephan or something. He's a defensively responsible center who can play in the top 6, while allowing Cozens to ease into a 3rd line role and eventually take over. Just a thought.

Yep I agree. The crazy thing is Buffalo was 6 points out when Ullmark got injured, they lost 7 games by one goal with a blind man in net, they would have easily made the 24 team playoff with a healthy Ullmark, who quietly had a good season.

I don't know if they'll be able to resign him, but that'd certainly be fair value in my mind because it gives them a winger for Mcdavid, because he's not gonna want to waste away on the third line unless he's fine with just playing the wing. I think buffalo would present him an opportunity to play a more important role on the team. I guess it depends on where his head is at.

Oh totally dude. It's really bad luck if you ask me because if they weren't capable of being a good team they wouldn't have times where they play really well.

For as great as this site can be, people are still pretty stubborn and like to argue. Not to mention the fact that everyone thinks the players on their teams are Gods and should not be disrespected. It's funny to me when we have seen so many legends play on multiple teams and people think it can't happen to guys in today's game.

Supposedly, the Sabres tried to get him in the O’Reilly deal, but St.Louis refused.

I would have trouble trading Dylan Cozens at this point the return coming the other way would have to be outstanding, not just fair value or good value. In other words lopsided trade in favor of the Sabres.
