Boeser trade

Created by: The_Rocket
Team: 2019-20 Vancouver Canucks
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 10, 2020
Published: Jul. 10, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I super duper do not want to trade boeser but that’s what the rumour of the day is.

A first coming back is pretty much required, as is a top 4 D-man

Here are some possibilities.

The ask is high because Boeser is a cheap, high scoring, young winger who will expire as an RFA. His value will likely never be higher. The Canucks ask will be huge if he actually is traded

A defensive pair of Hughes - Tony D would be so fun to watch.

          deangelo-boeser

Pretty lightning quick no from the Rangers since Deangelo's been worth almost double Boeser's value on the ice and Rangers are already stacked at RW.

If you swap Deangelo with Trouba it's in the ballpark, but positionally just doesn't make sense.

The Dumba trade makes the most sense value wise...

          How about:

          Boeser
          VAN 2020 3rd

          for

          Timmins
          Compher
          2020 COL 1st

Vancouver get a young RHD with top-pairing potential, a 1st, and a middle 6 forward to fill the roster spot vacated by Boeser.

Fwiw, in The Athletic yesterday Wheeler ranked Timmins as the 44th best prospect, making him the 7th highest rated drafted RHD prospect.

Values close but I don’t think that’s the package the Canucks want back. Canucks need an immediate top 4 D to replace stetcher and Tanev. As well, they have a ton of middle 6 forwards. I think Toffoli would be the “Boeser” replacement for the Canucks. Not sure Colorado has the spare parts to accomplish this trade. Maybe Girad and a 1st?

Girard is untouchable. As shown in the article below he ranks 1st in the league in Possession Exit % at 50.6% (the only Dman over 50%) and is a core reason why Colorado are so successful. He's also our top shutdown Dman at EV (don't let his size fool you). He's still only 22 and is locked up at a great caphit for the next 7 years. All of which basically makes him more valuable than Byram right now.

          https://theathletic.com/1892364/2020/07/09/by-the-numbers-identifying-the-nhls-best-puck-moving-defensemen/

I think you're underrating Timmins. He's NHL ready and can probably slot into a 2nd pairing role immediately. The fact that he's still on an ELC makes it a perfect fit for Vancouver.

Overall I think Colorado certainly does have the parts to get a Boeser trade done, both in terms of a RHD prospect, along with plenty of secondary pieces to choose from, including Jost/Zadorov/Compher/Donskoi/etc, a deep prospect pool, and draft picks.

VAN is not moving Boeser this is just fake rumor just to stir things up in the Vancouver market.
