If CAR can get out of their mistake that easy....CAR should do this too.

I'm for this just because it would be very funny to see Reimer and Bernier back together

I feel like it's a win-win trade.

Buffalo needs a LDH like Skjei more than Montour.

If Canes sign Lehner they won't have money for Hamilton because they need to sign Svechnikov. Montour would be a more useful piece for them going forwards.

I think so too. Only thing is I think they will have to commit to him long term or else the AAV will be too high. He'll only be 35 if they sign a 7 year deal though. That's not that old for a goalie.

I can’t see us moving Martinook and McGinn as they are primary Pkers. The team in this proposal would be counting on Aho and Turbo to be primary killers. They are good at it but we need them for scoring.

We’ll need 4 million in space so, cut Leivo.

This could work for Svech and Dougie long term. We would basically pay Seattle to take Gardiner, Nino, or Montour. Then find someone to take one of the other two. At the same time we could go a short bridge deal for svech to keep the costs down.

I hope no. Why do we need Skjei with his contract? I'd rather spend that money on an attack player.

We are light on left D. He is a solid second pairing guy. We have enough cap to fit some.higher end forwards also if we can acquire them

I'm not so high on Skjei, he gets 5+ million and obviously does not play for this money, we also have Bryson, Samuelsson and Johnson as prospects to take this place in 1-3 seasons. I would rather pay Edmundson 3.5 million for 3 years than trade RD for Skjei.

I am not sure 3.5 gets it done for Wdmundson and also he needs to agree to come here

With a flat cap it is quite possible, but Edmundson is just an example, there is Hutton, Merrill, there is some other trade. It’s just that if Skjei got 3.5 million for three years, I might not mind, and he has four more years and 5.2 million a year it seems too big and we will need to keep in mind the extensions of Dahlin and Joki, and this will definitely be 10+ million.

Agreed we have to consider that, but Skej could easily be taken in expansion draft and if not we can always move him
