The Sabres got a cap penalty because they went over with bonuses. You're dangerously over with bonuses. The cap penalty will be worse the second time you do it especially consecutively and you havent even paid the first fine.

Can buffalo fans please stop trying to offload montour for Hanifin? It’s so funny. They keep talking like hanifin is **** and montour is the all end all but they keep trying to trade him. We like hanifin and we are happy to keep him

Oh dont get me wrong I like Montour, Im just not moving Hanifin for him. IMO Montour is just a lesser version of Brodie that will cost more due to arbitration and age.
I know Snow doesnt like Risto but I would personally do a package around Bennett for him. Hes a big right handed defenceman that can play lots of minutes as long as his defensive game isnt given super high expectations. Basically the same as having Gus on the top pair but hits. Also a majority of our young defensive core is also Scandinavian so he would fit in. Give depth to our powerplay and allows the Hanifin Andersson line to flourish.

I don't hate the detroit trade, reminds me of the trades we did this year, Basically trading a 3rd for Tage Thompson. We MIGHT be able to get some 2021 3rd or 4th rounds picks back if we trade Glennie, nemeth, bernier, or Fill at the deadline.
