Have to thk that’s a super hard no from Lumbus.
Not enough honestly and kills the team they are building basically around Jones

Doesn’t matter how good a winger is, 1D is probably the most expensive piece u can trade for outside like a franchise c

Thats a huge overpay for Jones. He isnt worth that much. Pretty much all advanced stats point to him being an average player. The Leafs and Dubas would be dumb to accept this

Seeing how this trade was made from the Leafs perspective, Dubas can’t turn it down.
In fact, the Jackets would summarily reject that cr*p package for Jones alone. Any trade for Jones would include a top center or package that has a 1st round pick.

The Leafs dont want Jones. Hes gonna ask for around 8 mill when hes a UFA and that contract is gonna look eerily similar to the Trouba one. Hes a solid 2nd pair guy at best who gets overrated by the media for some unknown reason

Columbus isn’t trading Jones.... end of discussion. Doesn’t matter who declines or what the stats say. Jones won’t be traded from Columbus.

Jones is an elite top 10 dman in the league. Nylander isnt close to enough. Your title is annoying.

This is akin to claiming that Nylander is an overrated middle-6 winger.

Why don’t you start a forum thread with a poll to see who on this site thinks Jones is a middle pair defenseman vs. one of the top 5-7 Right D men in the league.
I’m fairly certain the results may surprise you based on your complete unawareness of his skill level and ability to control games from the back end.
Just look at what the Jackets have done pre-Seth Jones vs. with him. While not all their success should be attributed to Jones, he is the primary factor.
Even with Bob and Panarin leaving and the rash of injuries the team faced? Jones held the team together until he went down.
Oh, and most NHL analysts and pundits would agree, as he is always in the conversation for Norris.

See my response above to deys3232. Didn’t know how to link you in. Seems like just another troll trying to get filet mignon on a hamburger budget.

Jones had a very pedestrian year in advanced stats and for a guy like deys, who only looks at advanced stats he sees Jones as a top 4 d vs a top pair D. These people don’t use anything but advanced stats to determine how good a player is.
