What the hell is this? Since when is a top 6 center the price of a 3rd line RW?

Kapanen is a 2nd line winger on any other team and he’s still just 23. After this draft, LA will have Byfield, Turcotte, Kupari, Thomas and Madden up the middle.

Hawks pass. They don't have the luxury of acquiring cap dumps. They'll 100% take reclamation projects, but not with $3.4M for 3 more years.

Probably true. Hawks were just a placeholder for the deal needed to get Johnsson of the books.

LA could be picking Stutzle(as they should) and Kapenen is not a top 6 winger on most teams he just seems like it because he plays in a very offense oriented system. Do you really think if Kapanen played on a defensive rebuilding team like LA, he would put up over 50 points? Highly unlikely. Not a the cause of a future 1C and current 2C, you wish. Not only that, the last thing Toronto needs is a top 6 center due for an extension in 2 years. Get real. If Kings wanted Kapanen they'd trade Lizotte and Roy for him, but it'll never happen. We don't want or need him. Plenty of other options and no hurry for us

The same Gabe Vilardi who’s played only 10 NHL games and is less than a PPG in the AHL? Calling him a sure fire top 6 is a very Kings-fan way to look at it. LA has a backlog of centre prospects like I’ve never seen before. Vilardi is falling down that depth chart a little every day. That’s reality. He’s also spent almost his entire pro career on LTIR. He’s one big hit away from going back on it and the league, the Kings and everyone else knows it.

We wouldn't trade Vilardi for Kapanen and your 2020 second. Even as a RW, Vilardi is worth more than Kapanen.

Kerfoot is straight booty. Why would the Wild trade a decent goalie prospect AND a 2nd for a borderline 3c?

Jones has looked good and looks like he could have a very bright future, from what I here from the local reporters it sounds like the Wild organization is very high on him. I think your valuation is a bit off but not awful. The bigger problem is that I have heard Guerin on the radio and several podcasts stress he will be looking for a right shot center this offseason. That kinda points toward him doing another deal with Rutherford for Bjugstad IMO. Even if I'm wrong I still think it rules out Kerfoot.

You clearly don't follow Kings hockey. Vilardi is a lock at 2C this season and will be in the Kings top six for years to come. There was worry last season that he would never rehab to the point of being able to play hockey again, but he has proven that to not be the case. Kings fans are all very high on him. Stutzle advocates project Vilardi as the 1C of the future.

Kings might consider swapping him for Robertson, but short of that, there's nothing that the Leafs have that would entice the Kings to trade Vilardi.

Even if Petro wanted to come (he doesn't), he certainly wouldn't sign for that. And the Blues have zero use for Holl, even if the quoted price is good,

Vilardi will be in the kings top 6 for years. Whether it be at C or W. And if he drops to the 3rd line then the kings have a very good “problem” because he will be one of the better 3rd liners in the league in a few years. He didn’t look out of place at all and for him to be just under a point per in the AHL was very good considering he wasn’t even on the ice for basically an entire year!

Kings decline this trade so fast.

You’re right. He’ll probably re-sign with STL.

You clearly dont know anything about Vilardi. Is our 2C and no he has not fallen off any depth chart in fact he has only risen the #1 center prospect spot. He got 7 point in 10 NHL games, broke the NHL record for fastest first NHL goal scored(10 seconds), and his injuries are behind him. Gretzky had the same injury. Again, you will never get Vilardi.
