If the Leafs somehow land the 1st Overall pick, I'd be 99% for the team trading it, if it helps fill the teams holes to create a Cup Dynasty. But that's unlikely...so keep the pick.

What do you mean? PIck #3 is a no brainer. Take whoever's left of Byfield and Stuzle.

Pick #5 isn't hard either. Either go Rossi, Drysdale or Raymond.

Imagine it would be buffalo. and then it would be like. Ohh. We actually fired all our scouts smile But I would trade that pick. Maybe with a team like New Jersey that has like two top 10 picks

There would be very little to no motivation for either of these teams to entertain this concept.

Unrealistic IMO.

Well this solves the #1 RHD problem for the future.

No chance they're are trading both picks for 1st. One of them plus a prospect and/or an rfa is the most I'd do

The only prospect that makes sense is Brannstrom. I don't think any others (other than Tkachuk who is untouchable) get you up to #1.

Sens will more likely trade DOWN in the Draft, after selecting 3rd Overall, maybe secure a proven young star to help them contend now, while still grabbing a late 1st Rd'er to add to the NYI pick.

does it? Like, even in the top 5 you arnt guarenteed a 1#RHD of the future or anything. Unless you plan on trading it for a current guy like Makar, but then why does colorado (or whoever) do it?

Brannstrom and the 3rd or 5th? I'm probably saying no. Definitely not Tkachuk

Not a chance they trade down. Why would they trade down? Look how many picks they have in the first 2 rounds.

The only reason I could think of that they trade down is if they want Askarov.

I don't know. Value wise I'd think the 3rd but I think Leafs might say yes to the 5th if Drysdale is still available.

I don't think sens would. I think dorion loves Brannstrom. But you never know

Personally I would entertain offers for the 5th pick if I was GM, this is a pretty deep Draft and a late 1st Rd'er could still have the same potential as a Top 5-10 pick.

If Ottawa has faith in their scouts, the don't even consider 3+5 for 1. Lafreniere isn't more valuable than the 3rd and 5th best players.

No pick is a no brainer (ok. maybe CMD and Crosby were) . Ask Edmonton with Yakupov and to some degree also with RNH. Griffin Reinhard was supposed to be a franchise D. The list goes on.

If the Leafs were to win the 1st pick, I think they'll wait to see if Lafreniere pans out before making any blockbuster trade. If he does deliver the expectation, I could see them move Nylander or even Marner for a top defenseman.

The Edmonton scouts actually voted for Murray but the GM ignored them.

Lafreniere is supposedly in the same tier as Crosby and CMD.

Nothing against Laf, but he is just not the player the other 2 were. It is just the classic hype before every draft
