Lindholm is worth more than DeAngelo, so change the 3rd for a 2nd or a 1st if the Ducks are being greedy

Lindholm is the better more established player but he has 2 years left and ANA is rebuilding. Tony D had a great year QBing the PP but the right side is crowded in NY. ANA can probably lock him up for 5 at 5.25. If it came down to it I wouldn't be too upset with a 2nd instead of a 3rd but I feel this makes sense for both teams

Lindholm has thrived as a number 1 dman in Anaheim. I don’t see the ducks giving up their number 1 for DeAngelo, who doesn’t seem to me like a number 1

I was expecting 7 pages of "Have you seen DeAngelo play?" Only to find one comment going the wrong way on this deal. NYR with the HARD pass. Like HARD pass.

Tony D had a great season and his value is higher than ever, however, I think a player like Lindholm is what the team needs if they are trying to push starting next year. Fox looked incredible this year and I think he can take over PP1 duties. The left side of the D unit needs a huge upgrade and I think trading TDA is the only way to do it.

Everyone is discussing what Fox can get on the trade market because they are so locked into DeAngelo as a non starter for discussions. I like Hampus but this is clearly a trade up for Anaheim and there is no reason for NYR to consider moving this player. A Fox package makes way more sense.

We'll have to agree to disagree here. Fox is cost controlled, younger and has a higher upside. No way I'm dealing him over Tony D, who had a he'l of a season but wore out his welcome in 2 other organizations and was routinely benched last year. Don't get me wrong I think Tony has a good career ahead of him, but Fox can be a top pair two way D.

Fox can be those things. DeAngelo just played a Norris discussable season. I am fine with keeping both. But if you don't think DeAngelo's season was a complete fluke you're not trading the best looking defensemen your franchise has had since Brian Leetch.

@reelkena Ryan McDonagh had a few great years there and was their captain on a SCF appearance so I'd say TD has to fill those shoes first.

@J_Mike83 I don't see NY wanting to do this trade, as it ties up a ton of cap space for them which they'll need this upcoming season to also sign guys like Strome, Lemieux, and Georgiev. Plus, they most likely want to keep TD around because he just lived up to all his potential this past season and is only 24.

If their going to trade anybody out of that class you'd think it would be Georgiev because it's a position of strength for them. I'll look into that this afternoon.

With Tony D an RFA I assume he will cost somewhere in the ballpark of Lindholm's 5.25 so it should be about a wash. I think moving Gorgiev makes a lot of sense too if they can get some value in return.
