Based on Stanley_Cup_To_Manhattans idea

Team: 2020-21 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 11, 2020
Published: Jul. 11, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Just wanted to piggyback off of Stanley_Cup_To_Manhattan’s idea of acquiring Barkov from FLA from this morning. Don’t pay too much attention to the depth moves made to this team, this is primarily to show what the NYR would potentially look like with Barkov in the lineup. You’d have to imagine if Kakko figures things out it would be a pretty crazy top 6. As for future cap concerns, Hank and Perreault would come off the books next season and save 12.625 mil to re sign Buch, Lindgren, etc. I don’t expect this to happen but wanted to see what it’d look like if it did.

Leafs don't have any need for Andersson

Jets decline. Why would we give up a serviceable player for someone that wouldn’t even be a regular on our team and is paid more. Let me tell you, the 3rd and Henricksson isn’t enough imo.

The jets want to compete in the near future, and for that they need picks in the 2nd round or higher and cap space

there is potential to that Toronto trade. Andersson could do with a fresh start and Keefe could be the coach he needs to tap into his potential.

I really wish people would read the description lol. “ Don’t pay too much attention to the depth moves made to this team, this is primarily to show what the NYR would potentially look like with Barkov in the lineup. ”

The minor trades are not meant to be taken too literally. The point was to show how a lineup would fill out and look in general with Barkov added. For example, it doesn’t have to be a Staal trade to the Jets, it could be any team that would be willing to take him.

That trade isn’t a “depth move”. That would be classified as a blockbuster in hockey

I’ll clarify this one more time. The Barkov trade IS a blockbuster and it’s the main reason behind this post. The Staal and Andersson trades are NOT blockbusters. Every other trade beside the Barkov one is what I considered a depth move.

Then you should say “I didn’t really care/put much work into the tiebreak trades so only look at the Barkov trade” if you don’t want people to respond about them. Or something like, the other moves are just to create cap space or something and aren’t necessarily to those teams. A lot of people just put anywhere or any team

Read 👏 The 👏 Description 👏

That’s what I said. I didn’t think it needed to be reiterated via comment in each trade.

You said don’t pay attention to depth moves. Imo Theo niku depth move is the OTT one and you could even make a case that that’s a depth move. A “depth move” is like signing a depth forward/defensemen or trading for one with picks m (so very simple trades that won’t be argued). I am just saying that use a different term if you don’t want anyone to comment on the other trades. Personally, I don’t comment on trades for top players so I wouldn’t have commented.
