Description
Expansion Draft Protect List:
Matthews
Tavares
Marner
Nylander
Hyman
Kerfoot
Mikheyev
Reilly
Holl or Dermott
Muzzin
Andersen

Exposed to be picked:
Engvall
Crouse
Campbell
Holl or Dermott

Didn’t mess with D too much, they will have to sort themselves out and maybe trade a piece away once we can see who does or doesn’t step up. Dermott has history of playing right side in his past and he’s got the skill and grit in his game that makes him just as much value as Sandin and Liljegren have at a young age. May be too early to give up on him but need a big transition year from him.

If either of Crouse or Engvall gone in Seattle draft then spot opens the following year for Robertson if he’s ready in 2021-2022 season. Cap space to give Freddie an understandable contract and see how Barabanov and Lehtonen work out for re-signings.

I think you don't need to protect hyman, won't he be a UFA? Also isn't soup ineligible for the ED?

I have a funny feeling Barbie opts out of his NHL career and stays in KHL.

Assuming re-signed. May wait it out so we can protect someone like Crouse. Pretty sure Mickey doesn’t fall under hat ineligibility but I could be wrong.

If they trade Johnsson and Kapanen there is no reason to trade for Marian Hossa's LTIR relief since you are not going over the cap. Furthermore, Arizona would need it to make a run at Hall unless they moved a player like Stepan out.

The real question is how is your defense above better than this year's defense which is the teams Achilles.

You don't have to protect either Andersen or Hyman, unless you want to re-sign them before the expansion draft, which would be foolish. Although a couple of Colorado guys have insisted to me that the Avalanche are going to re-up Gabriel Landeskog, presumably to make everyone feel warm and cozy.

If you are going to use "Anywhere" for Johnsson, don't pick the Kings. Use Anaheim for that.
