the value is fair on the avs trade but they need francouz more than they need petry or tatar so that kills the deal.

Your selling Canadiens players low!

Tatar even as a pending UFA gets at least a 1st + 3rd

Petry gets probably a 2nd + 3rd w/o extention

Domi would get the same return as a guy like Kadri which is probably a 1st top 3 protected

Ironically the Alzner trade is too high the Habs would have to include a 1st and Detroit probably isn't interested unless it's unprotected which Montreal would rather just keep Alzner and buy him out next season when he only has 1 year left

If this is done after the 2nd draft lottery, and Montreal doesn't pick 1st overall Detroit would probably take Alzner for the 2020 1st.

Yeah, Detroit would rather the 2022 first considering 2020 is worth too much and the 2021 is due in the OS. A late second and a second 2 years from now is too low.

MTL rejects that COL trade they could get more for both of them.

Both teams say no to the Colorado trade. Montreal can get more if they trade those players separately, and Colorado have no reason to trade a 1B goalie on a sweetheart deal for the next 2 years.

Got to agree a 1000% here. The Avs are looking to move a dman with Byram and Timmins ready to step into the NHL not take on one.

Agree it’s a bad trade for both teams.

Avs decline.

Tatar is nice, but they have no need for Petry as their blue line is too crowded as it is and Francouz is a solid cost controlled back up, why would they hurt their goalie, crowder their D core just to pick up a 1 year rental

Makes no sense for the Avs with their current roster build
