If it is you don't trade for a dman you don't need on a one year contract.

you'd be getting three roster players in exchange for one who is coming off a bad year and only has two years left until UFA. I consider this to be an overpay

Hutton would be Ottawa's third best goalie.

So your idea of how the sharks rebuild is by giving up one of their top 3 forwards AND a top pick in the 2nd for A bust (yes I said it middlestat is a bust) and a 2/3 pairing Defenseman We don’t need and your first. So in essence we’re giving up Hertl to move from 34th to 8th.....

not enough guys your logic Is why it’s been a COLD 9-10 years in buffalo, and will be another 4-5 colder years! Keep
It up guys.

McCabe has one year left. Take out the SJS 2nd and switch McCabe for Samuelsson. That's how you rebuild.

SJS doesn't want to trade Hertl. You can't overpay for a player the other team doesn't want to trade...

Hertl has a big NTC clause kicking in not a lot of term. Long term on Vlasic, Burns Karlsson plus one of the worst goalies in the league in Martin Jones. It’s going to be painful.

Ok then give us someone that will be around in the NHL by the time we are done rebuilding, Mittel is a bust and Mccabe will be gone

We don’t have anything that’s why they aren’t trading for Hertl. Plus he only has 2 years left and is coming off an injury it’s not worth it for BUF.

Same with Buffalo... lol...

Ottawa rejects. Best offer is Reilly + the 3rd for Montour.

We don't want or need Hutton. In fact he's a cap dump for the Sens so you'd have to pay if you want us to take him.

Vancouver rejects. Why is the pick protected? If the pick is protected Buffalo has to take the Eriksson contract.

Yea I am not happy with Wilson decisions lately I miss his short term only contracts in the 2000-2012 era.

That being said Burns is 35 but he’s healthy and a fitness freak (see the sports illustrated naked edition) I see him being a solid contributor for at least 3 more years and the last 2 he will still be good just not elite. So he’s not the issue

Vlassic is not the player he use to be and the term is stupid On his contract, but If we put him on the 3rd pairing and adjust his set up we can at least get a few more serviceable years before we buy him out.

Jones Was a good goalie when we signed him but has been bad the last two years I blame system and coaching mostly. Towards the end of last year he showed a little positive and with almost a year of little to no hockey other thanks hundreds of hours working directly with Nabokov I see him being average next year (hopefully)

Karlsson is the biggest problem if I could erase his contract and bring back the players and both firsts we gave up we are instantly back in the playoffs and we have a stronger prospect pool.
That’s the one isssue I have the most problem with on our team.

Still none of this justifies dumping our best forward and our 34 overall for a bust and the 8 th

And there are no assurances that 8th overall won’t end up being a bust like middlestat

These Hertl trades just keep getting more unrealistic by the day...
