That Pietrangelo contract will definitely not be legal under the new CBA.

eh they still might have front loaded and back loaded deals, but not 95% of contract being signing bonuses.

Kings? ... that offer isn't enough for Rielly alone. Adding in Kerfoot makes it a steal for the Kings.

You are correct. I just looked it up and any year in the contract cannot be less than 60% of the highest paid year of the contract. Also, no adjacent year can be less than 25% of the previous year.

"Additionally, under no circumstances may the stated Player Salary and Bonuses in any League Year of a Front-Loaded SPC be less than sixty (60) percent of the highest stated Player Salary and Bonuses in a League Year of that same Front-Loaded SPC."

Interesting view, I guess the Kings are going all in for the cup next year with the addition of Rielly before he walks in Free Agency

I know I read about the contract pay changes a week ago, but I can't find anything that confirms it in the new CBA now. I'm pretty sure it was just speculation. Do you have a link to it?

Yes the King’s are gong all in with a 26yo top pairing defense man....it’s not like we’re talking about a rental. He has 2 years left. Kempe has 2 years left and Lizote is an Rfa next year. Neither is a core part of the King’s, unless I’m missing something. Reilly would be playing with doughty. Kerfoot is 25 and signed for 3 more years at a good cap hit as well. Neither of these acquisitions suggest the King’s are “All in.” This trade actually accelerated the rebuild.

No the part that is "All in" is trading the very likely top 10 pick. Also accelerating your rebuild and making yourself a fringe competitor for 2 years then restarting again are 2 completely different things

What if the pick was LA’s choice of 21 or 22 1st?
