Description
Toronto is going to have to make a bad trade here and there, why not start here. Lots of rumor's circulating around all these players, might be a good move for all of them to start fresh in a new home. The Flames need help in Goal and in the backend epecially on the right side. I would like the flames to re-sign at least Hamonic, they traded a lot to get him, and to lose him for nothing is a shame. I'd like to see Barrie come in as well. As for Johnny Hockey, he's days are numbered in Calgary, if they can scoop up a deal that could bring in prospects and a goalie that could develop into a starter down the road would be a dream. The Columbus trade would never happen, but we're here to have fun, right?? If it's an early exit from these playoffs, the Flames will be moving players.

Columbus asks you to switch Gaudreau for Monahan. We need a center more then we need a wing. Also that’s an underpayment for Gaudreau.

If I were the Leafs, I would accept it. Bennett and Jankowski not only provide what the Leafs are missing but are good pieces for the bottom 6.

Toronto is going to have cap issues next year, they're going to have to trade players. I think Bennett and Janko need a fresh start, and Bennett is a greedy player, he should do well in Toronto.

Moving Johnsson would require a sweetener to get away from his horrible contract.

except that his contract isnt horrible and you get 2 expensive 4th liners that end up barely saving you any money this way?

Not entirely certain how Bennett is a 4th liner. He is a solid 3rd line winger capable of playing C. Johnsson is a 3rd line winger that can provide offense but is injury prone. I love Mangos game, but he is just too reckless with his body. He’s got a lot of heart though. This trade IMO is a good trade for the Leafs.

Kerfoot's future is uncertain with the Leafs, I'm not sure if the Flames are interested in him. Kapanen's names been mentioned. But it's almost certain that something is going to happen between these 2 teams.

Just because a bunch of leafs fans dont like him because they dont know what a 3c actually is doesnt mean his future is in doubt

I actually liked that trade with Colorado. I think Kerfoot is a great player, but Toronto needs to trim some fat. It doesn't look like the NHL will be adjusting the Salary Cap much, it will be interesting to see what Dubas does come this brief off season.

You sure do enjoy cutting down everyone's opinion or thoughts.
These aren't meant to be in any way on par with real life.
They made up from the posters thought on what they'd like to see.

Honestly, if that's all it takes to get Gaudreau, I'd take my chances. But we all know that he'd cost more.

It all depends on how the Flames perform in the playoffs, if it's another early exit, I think the Flames will make one or two moves. And I agree with you that Gaudreau could yield a better return, but not if he has a ****ty playoff like last year.

I know it's a highly unpopular thought or opinion around here, but there are many benefits to consider moving Johnny now, rather than waiting another year.

Trading him now will surely get the Flames a better return since the team acquiring him gets for 2 years as that's what left on his current deal at an extremely low cost given similar players right now.

If the Flames keep him and look to move him after the coming season, the return goes down slightly as whatever team gets him only gets that final year of his contract and unless there's something in place for re-signing him they'd be giving up a big price for basically 1 year before he walks as a UFA.

It makes zero sense for Calgary to try and keep him. Too many guys will need big dollar contracts very soon, Tkachuk being one of them as his current deal ends the same time as Johnny. And honestly if you had to choose, which one of those two are you keeping?

So, as much as people rip on me for saying it, the time to #tradegaudreau is NOW
