Colorado has 2 good goalies, I don’t think they need Jarry. Also, I would swap Hornqvist with Sheary, I like Hornqvist on the top line w/ Sid & Jake’s

Hornqvist is a third liner at this point and Sid doesn't let them roll that line

Doesn't really make sense for Colorado. I can see a Grubauer + for Murray trade potentially happening if the Pens decide to go with Jarry, but I can't see the Avs just acquiring an additional goalie (especially one that doesn't have a long track record) without sending one the other direction.

This would assume they move a goalie elsewhere to clear room

I should have elaborated more. One of the reasons they would send Grubauer the other way would be to reduce the cost. They don't want to trade a Timmins or higher prospect for a goalie when they're already pretty solid and have a great prospect in Annunen. Interesting idea but from an Avs fan perspective I just don't see it.

Avs dont have any reason to make this trade. This gives them 3 NHL quality goalies and would just force them to make another trade to get rid of one

I feel if Sheary gets cold, Sully will move Horny up to the top line for a bit to change the momentum. That’s how it was during 2017 & 2018.

Honestly, I feel Horny is too good & makes too much money to play on the third line. If he can’t get out of the bottom 6 role in PIT, I’m not opposed to moving him. ‪I have been contemplating the idea of sending Patric Hornqvist, Sam Lafferty, Jack Johnson & Chad Ruhwedel to Toronto for Mitch Marner. Would you do it?‬

Grubauer is a UFA summer 2021 so he should be easy to move and it's solid asset management to do so

They would swap Simon and Sheary in this lineup depending on who Sid wants on a given night. Horny is a solid power play / 3rd line guy at this point and that's fine. That's not even close to fair value for Marner

There was a good amount of talk before the season about them being interested, I realize that may have changed with Francouz playing well but where there's smoke there's usually fire. Jarry would given them a fantastic 1/2 with whichever goalie they decide to keep

Anticipating a Jarry contract of around 3.5M x 2 years, not sure if that affects things. Really depends on how they view Grubauer long term more than anything else. Their cup window should be Mackinnon's current contract so I don't think they'd necessarily mind parting with a goalie prospect.

Nah there wasn't. Maybe it was just Pens fans having fun convincing themselves that but there was no Avs Jarry/Pens goalie talk before the season.
No Avs writer mentioned anything about Avs wanting to trade for a Pens writer. The only guy who did was Dater after the Pens blogger in their HockeyNow shame of a site starting to speculate about it so he was pushing that story but wouldnt even back it up himself

Sorry to burst your bubble

Thanks for letting me know your thoughts. I agree Marner is worth more, but there has been speculation that in a flat cap world, they won’t get a very good return cuz teams aren’t going to be interested in taking on that contract. I feel in this package, the Leafs will receive the pieces that fill holes on their roster in order to contend.

The window is longer than that with the prospect pool (including Timmins and Annunen). Jarry just doesn't make sense, as it's not as if he's proven himself as a playoff performer. Murray would, but again not at the cost of Timmins.
