Description
Timothy Liljegren impresses out of camp, posting great defensive numbers. Such that mirror a young Shea Weber.

Nick Robertson also lights it up, striking Golden chemistry with JT and Souperman. Immediately, Nylander - Kerfoot - Kapanen becomes by a mile the best third line in the NHL.

Travis Dermott signs a contract very similar to Tony DeAngelo, and will get his raise next year

Barrie asks Dubas if there is anyway to bring him back. Dubas offers him the most they can give. Barrie takes it because he wants to prove Himself to managers around the league during one full season under Keefe. He also signs the deal because he doesn’t want to up and move again, and would rather wait out Covid in Toronto, and try boost his value and get a bigger raise next year.

Sadly, Johnsson must go. The reality of a flat cap is losing him, in favour of keeping Dermott and Mikheyev.

I would happily take Barrie back at this amount knowing the Leafs will still find a way to upgrade their defence.

it's asking a lot, but not totally out of the realm of possibility. I think Barabnov and Lehtonen find spots in the lineup tho

I would like to see them in, but just don’t see Lehtonen taking Dermotts spot. Maybe they’ll split games.

From Nylander being 3rd line LW to Liljegren being 1st pair RD after a great camp to Barrie taking a super cheap deal to stay in TO, this is the most bizarre thing I have ever read.

honestly I could see Liligren being placed with muzzin next season. Muzzin is a solid mentor for rookies and could help liligren find his footing in the NHL. Robertson may be on the roster but its all dependent on how well he does in the play-in rounds.

That was originally how it was being reported, but it seems that the increase to 750K won't happen until 2021/22.
