This is a good looking team

Created by: KingLundqvist30
Team: 2020-21 Colorado Avalanche
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 12, 2020
Published: Jul. 12, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Captain: Landeskog
Assistant Captain: MacKinnon
Assistant Captain (Home): Johnson
Assistant Captain (Away): Rantanen

Roster Moves
Ian Cole: With Byram coming up, Cole is no longer needed and is a UFA at the end of next Season. Ship him off somewhere.

JT Compher: With the amount of talent that this team has, Compher becomes expendable. Donskoi and Compher put up identical numbers and I chose to keep Donskoi.

Ilya Mikheyev: This is where it gets interesting. Mikheyev looked good for his Freshmen season in the NHL and I feel that if a team were to put a serious number out there in the form of an Offer Sheet, and you mix that with Toronto’s cap issues, he could be acquired quite easily.

Trevor Van Riemsdyk: TVR is someone who has always been a shut down guy and he can be paired with Byram so that Bowen has a Vet looking out for him.

Josh Leivo: Signed him as a 4th line RW. Nothing special here.

Why trade compher, hes still affordable? Pretty sure mikheyev isn't eligible to be offersheeted either, also you have to so something with zadorov

I’ll check about Mikheyev. I view Compher and Donskoi as pretty much the same player, and I didn’t want to have one of them stuck on the 4th line.

Well with mikheyev not an option donskoi can be 2 RW, and even if they're on the 4th line that makes the team even better

Mikheyev is in fact eligible for an Offersheet.

“ s you can see on page 30 of the CBA (Article 10.2) below, any player signing his first contract at 24 or older only needs 1 year professional experience to be be a "Group 2" RFA. A minimum of 10 games is required to fulfill 1 year of experience.

Mikheyev signed his first contract at 24 and played 39 games, so he will be a Group 2 RFA eligible for salary arbitration.”

“ In Article 12:3(a) below it is clearly stated that "A player subject to a Club-elected salary arbitration pursuant to this Section 12.3(a) shall remain eligible to negotiate and sign an Offer Sheet with any other Club (...)"

I believe that this still stands with the new CBA.

That’s a lot of unnecessary moves. Cole is the perfect partner for Byram in the 3rd pairing and with his contract expiring at the end of next season it opens a spot naturally for Timmins. Compher is worth more than a 3rd and 4th to the Avs as he centers the 3rd line and is one of the lead PK forwards. Jost who would be the most likely forward traded slots on the 4th line with PEB and Calvert making a 4th line that you can put out any time.

Honestly the only things the Avs are looking to add is a top 6 winger ideally using Jost and Zadorov as per of the package opening the 4 line spot for Kaut, and a 7th dman if Zadorov is moved.

Not saying that the value is bad, but the Flyers already have three LW that would be higher on the depth chart (Giroux, JVR, and Lindblom) and still have to make room for Farabee.
