So you are trading a cap dump, a B prospect and a second for a top six forward? To answer your question no this is definitely not an overpay, not even close.

Yep, I'm just quoting what I saw sabres fans on twitter saying.

Risto definitely not a cap dump. He's a 40 point PP QB right shot defenseman. If other teams see no value in him we will happily keep him. He is by no means a perfect player or Norris Trophy candidate but he does have value. Been used in the wrong role in Buffalo. If given the right role he will be a quality player as was seen with significant improvement in his game this year

I don’t see it as too bad but Mitts, Risto and our 2nd is rather heavy for 2 years of Boeser. If anything I’d rather trade a slightly lesser prospect or at get a 2021 3rd or 4th to better level it out.

All fans are somewhat delusional about their teams..... ironic though that a Leafs fan is the one claiming Buffalo fans are delusional; seeing as Leafs fans are by far the most delusional of any fan base in hockey.

Risto isn't a cap dump he's a solid 2RD who can consistently put up roughly 40pts

Cap dump? Risto's last 4 seasons have all had 41+ points, and he was on pace for 39~40 this season. By no means a cap dump lmao.

meh. he is in a weird spot. his offensive abilities are overlooked just because his D is so bad. but it does not make sense for VAN to do that if they are trying to cut costs. Plus, risto's only strength (offense) is not really needed in VAN with Hughes.

I'm gonna say top 5 most delusional in no particular order: Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Islanders, New Jersey. Not every major UFA wants to play in Montreal.

BTW you would get 3 years of Boeser because he is still an RFA when his contract is up. Risto is probably negative value and you can only pray your second is as good as Boeser is. Mitts is okay. To get Boeser for 3 years AND get rid of Ristos contract.... only giving up Mitts and a 2 would be wild. This would probably be equally as bad as the ROR trade
