I would think lavoie and peterka would battle to play on the second line and if one isn't ready we sign a top 6 or top 9 player for one year

the only way you're going to fix the oilers in two years is if the rest of the league is in dog years.

Put Peterka with McDavid and Yamamoto with Draisaitl and Nuge to run the AA-McDavid-Peterka, and Nuge-Draisaitl-Yamamoto lines. With Peterkas speed and skill he could probably be a good line mate with McDavid. I would also hate to have to dump Rodrigue because he is good, and he is going to be our future starter. I wonder if McLeod would be really to be our 3c if so then there is no need to do the Colorado trade, and honestly I would rather try and trade Puljujarvi for Bokk.

The Russell trade is good , I think there will be a team that would take him, I would even retain 1M if necessary. I don’t really like the Avs trade, Jost is going to be no more then a third liner, if we trade Puljujarvi ( which I don’t think happens ) I would rather get a player like Bokk from the Canes. I don’t think we would have to pay Seattle to take Kassian, he is exactly the type of player an expansion team would target. I would not trade Rodrigue, he has the potential to be really good. I am all for trading our first for 2 seconds and get the players you mentioned

      Avs say no.

We're not in a position to be gambling on reclamations like Puljujarvi. He needs to play in the top 6 to be effective, and he isn't going to be gifted that opportunity by Bednar.

Conversely Jost is a cheap 3rd liner who is really good defensively at least (and has untapped offence) so he's much more useful in our roster.

I think the nuge would want longer term than that.
If caleb jones really develops next season, you could probably get a really good forward prospect for him.
Rodrigue is perhaps the best goalie porspect the oilers have, I would be against trading him

I wouldn't pick Foudy in the 2nd Round, he's a mid to late 3rd Rounder. I personally wouldn't draft him, I don't think he'll make it to the NHL, if so he's a 4th liner.

Why are you dumping so many prospects? The prospect pool is ridiculously thin as it is. Broberg is 3 yrs away and Jones is good and improving.

Rodirigue is an excellent G prospect, one of the best goalie prospects in their history. The Oilers have only had success with 3 G draft picks, Fuhr, Moog & Dubnyk. This is a horrible move.

Keep Neal. 3 yrs left, maybe he retires early and with new CBA he is off the salary cap. This team simply can't afford to trade more than 1 or 2 prospects/value contracts.
