87 percent NYR dont win pick1

Created by: fluff118

Description
I think this is an incredible team. 4 lines that can actually play hockey.

Smith/Anisimov deal seems fair now as edited.

Saw mostly happy reviews from Rangers and Wild fans about a proposed Georgiev for Hartman+2nd, and am curious how much that approval changes when Hartman is replaced by Greenway. I like this trade much better from NYR perspective.

Strome for TBL 1st has been thrown around a lot and gets mixed reviews. Adding a 2020 5th evens it out a tiny bit more and should be an accept from all parties. Perhaps upgrade the 5th to a 4th.

Justin Braun signed for 2 years is a Seattle exposure requirement.

No from DAL. Make it Howden+2nd and they might bite.

I would do Howden +4th for Faksa straight with no pick coming back.

Pretty much all of these look good.

The Ottawa trade does not. Smith vs. Anisimov is pretty even, Rangers adding way too much there.

I changed it to Smith+4th for Anisimov straight up. I don't think Ottawa has any real incentive to do this trade, so there has to be something of value going to them to make them interested.

Would rather hold onto the 2nd round pick instead of Andersson. It was Holland/Wright that were high on him during the trade so you’d probably be best trying to trade with Edmonton.

I would rather just get the 2nd. Brett Howden is not good.

I'll take my chances. We've needed that franchise, homegrown, centerpiece. Go Canes.

I'd want 2nd+3rd for Faksa. Howden works as the 3rd.

The lowest reasonable trade for NYR is Howden +2nd for Faksa + 3rd. If that is still too much then it probably isn't happening.

Even NYR might say no to that one actually.

Then it's a no. DAL has no need to move Faksa, and especially no need to move him for a low amount.

Trading Georgiev makes zero sense

I see this a lot, and I used to agree, but the more time I have spent thinking about it:

If you think Georgiev can be a top 30 goalie in this league, then you trade him.

Lets say you re sign him for 2 years, AND lets assume that he gets 20-30 games in the '21 season, and another 15-25 in the '22 season prior to the TDL. (The biggest assumption there is that somehow someway Hank is not playing at all in '21).

Now, at that point in time you are trading him. Period. There is 0 reason to keep him. 1) He wil want to be a starter on another team. 2) His value will have gone up slightly. 3) If you re-sign him, he will demand to be paid, but at the end of the '21 season, Shesty should have been locked up long term for 4-5m/8. Then you are paying too much for a 2nd goaile that will play 25ish games.

So the biggest things to consider now become: 1) How much will his value have gone up after those 40-50 games, and 2) If you traded him as proposed right now, do you feel comfortable with a UFA backup goaltender for '22, or do you feel comfortable with a callup like Wall or Huska, or do you not feel comfortable with either?

Unless the answer to question 1) is that his value has gone up to warrant a mid-late 1st rd pick, then it isn't worth hanging on to him.

Of course that is my opinion, but I have spent a lot of time going back and forth on the issue and have settled on this perspective for now.

It might be a no anyways. Assuming the Stars protect the top six and Dickie, we wouldn’t be able to protect Howden anyways. Which isn’t the end of the world, but it gives them something other than Pavelski to look at and I’d really like them to take Pavelski. All that said, Boss is correct. Ask for Faksa would be a second and a third and Howden counts as the third. Which is being generous

Not a massive fan of the Detroit trade as a Detroit fan. It makes more sense to exchange prospects who could use a change in scenery. Cholowski?

No, he isn’t ED exempt and doesn’t have a spot on the club so he’d be Grand Rapids bound and wouldn’t be getting prime minutes. We just aren’t a great fit for him anymore. Georgiev would be one of the only things of interest that your shipping off.

Strome without the 5th, for your 2nd + COL 2nd.

Too much for us to give up. I'd probably go with the first option if I had to choose between the two.
