Turn one of those 2nds a 1st. If VAN is dealing Boeser within division they're probably require a higher cost for him...no point making favors for rivals.

Young top 4 defencemen are not cheap especially when trading in the division as well

Honesty I haven’t put a lot of thought into boeser until this as there was really never any reason to consider it. What would you offer? This was more of a testing the waters Post

Legit Välimäki'd be the second finnish potential but injury riddled defenseman in Vancouver...they also have Juolevi in there you know.

All things considered, I don't think they're that interested without 1st being included.

Fair point but valamaki is still projected as a very high potential and reality is boeser is also a worry with his health as well. Joulevi is closer to the side of a depth defencman at this point where valamaki’s potential is still quite high. The benefit for Vancouver would also be that they wouldn’t have to protect valamaki in the expansion draft

Both of their potential is a question mark due to injuries. Välimäki has played below 50 games in 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons combined, Juolevi just slightly over that.

And btw if CGY uses Välimäki in this year's playoffs, he needs to be protected. That'd make this his second professional year, which means the next year would be his third and thus he wouldn't be exempt from being picked anymore.

I was aware of that but as valamaki hasn’t played at all this year and flames picked up an additional 2 defencmen at the deadline the chances of him playing are very slim even with Hamonic sitting out

Depends on how he performs on the "training camp."

He was supposed to be a regular NHL D this year.

So hypothetically if his injuries are behind him as a Vancouver fan hows the value? Having a guy like that and opening some cost control / cap space for boeser

I'm no Nucks fan, but naturally a cost controlled asset sounds always good.

Is it worth losing Boeser though? Ehh...not sure.
