Those stats are dead right.
I don't bs around with garbage stats like power play.
You evaluate a player you look at their 5v5 play. Everything else does not tell a real story. So many guys have nothing but power play points and are garbage 5v5 players.
Anyone who knows anything about hockey would tell you, the first place you look for a decline in a player is in their 5v5 play.
There it is. I just laid it out for you. You can accept it, or you can live in a cave.

Truth is Ghost isn't that good. You can keep pretending he is. But that's not what the facts say.

1. I didn't realize that PP points didn't count flushed cheeks .... even still check your math.
2. Even in a bad year with two (2) knee surgeries. Ghost is still a positive Corsi player at even strength and better than Jack Johnson.

My entire response was that Jack Johnson has no value to us. Are you trying to convince me that Ghost has none as well? I'm well aware that he needs to provide more than he has recently, but I'm not giving up on him for the garbage offered. So we agree... no deal.

what reality do you live in. He didn't have the second knee surgery until after the pandemic.
And his surgery to begin with was a scope. You try to make it sound like he tore his ACL or something major that could actually effect his play.

Watch the games... you can tell when a player is hurt. Sorry that it was only a minor surgery, but if you watch, you can see when someone that relies on their skating cannot confidently make the plays they typically use... but really I don't know how we are so far off base here.

Simple question for you so that I can understand where our disconnect begins: Who would you rather have playing for the Penguins - Jack Johnson or Shayne Gostisbehere?

neither and that's the point.
You are over here acting like there is some great divide between these two. Which is where the off base comes from. There is not.

There are always excuses for guys. But hey, I've seen a lot of guys get into fights and play hockey and not get hurt repeatedly.
Truth is he is hurt every season.
It is what it is. You can excuse it all day. He's hurt every season.
And the fact still stands that Zucker produces more points and goals than Mantha. He had 6 goals in 15 games with the penguins this year.
That's a 30+ goal pace. Which I can easily see him getting as a penguin especially on a line with Malkin and Rust. Or Crosby.

Zucker 41 points in 60 games and Mantha 38 points in 43 games. So yeah Zucker 3 more points than Mantha but it took 17 more games.

if falling to the ice causes you to puncture a lung, you are made of glass.
Plenty of guys get hit to the ice, a lot have been slew footed. Name me one other guy you have ever heard of puncturing a lung from a slew foot.......I'll wait.

You should probably watch the clip again. The pneumothorax was caused by the end Muzzin's stick, it caught between them as they went to the ice. You can even see it spring out from between them as they hit the ice.

no one is comparing MIN zucker to Mantha. We are comparing PIT zucker to Mantha. In 15 games he had 12 points. There is a huge difference.

You keep making excuses for Mantha. He's hurt every year. Like clockwork, he'll be hurt again next year.

Ok but in Mantha's last 15 games he had 14 points. So does that huge difference apply to Mantha? You say you aren't comparing them but you keep bringing up points. I wasn't saying he hasn't been hurt just pointing out that it was a stick and not the ice that caused his pneumothorax it was a stick so is there any thing else you want to make up?
