Amongst the worst trades I've ever seen for the Wild. Why are the Wild paying to take the Islanders salary dumps? If you say Michael Del Collle I'll know you are lying.

No thanks, that's essentially the Wild trading a productive player, a 2nd and 5th for two cap dumps, another probably scratched player and a 6th

Plus why even make the trade if Parise will be condemned to the 4th line

It's going back to the trade from the offseason that couldn't get completed bc of how complicated it was. This wouldn't be a complete deal; just a start to it. But it spreads their cap hits which would help if the NHL doesn't allow them to buy out Parise. But the Isles would obv need to give some more to work this out.

the Parise contract is MUCH worse than the Ladd contract. Ladd has 3 years after this one left, Parise has 5 after this year at a higher cap hit. This deal goes back to the highly rumoured one that almost got completed at the deadline. It wasn't Dal Colle as the piece, it was Kieffer Bellows (who isn't much better) but the deal also involved the Wild retaining on Parise and the Islanders retaining on Ladd. Minnesota gets the better end of the deal by far though

And Parise won't be playing the entire 5 years he has left. He has enough history with back problems that the league won't question it when he goes on LTIR when his salary drops drastically in a couple years.

& there's no guarantee he goes on LTIR. If he retires instead, there's cap recapture penalties. His contract is one of the worse in the league
