It’s not any better than Kane’s.

Its waaaaaaaay better than Kane's defense.

Kane is literally a bottom 5 defensive player in the league. While Panarin is about league average

You talking about Malkin's past history doesnt help when im talking about only the 19-20 season. You literally cant name 1 flaw in Pettersson's game other than "he doesnt fight"

I’m talking about the season where malkin still out scored petterson despite playing far fewer games. I’m talking about the malkin who led Pittsburgh’s offence throughout all the injuries and even lead the league in points per 60. The malkin who had 74 points in 55 games, good for a 110 point pace season. Petterson was on pace for 79 points. It ain’t even close. Pet Didn’t even lead his team in points. Malkin is clear cut better than petterson at the moment and if you say differently you’re just trolling like most of your posts. You just want some kind of reaction. It’s not worth my time giving it to you. FACTS DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR FEELINGS!!!

Honestly man, looking at most of his posts, he’s just looking to stir the pot. He’s a new user who probably came on here because he’s bored and wants to get under some people’s skin. That’s the only reason why he would legitimately create two lists (one forward and one defence) in a span of one night with a lot of hot takes. He’s just looking for a reaction.

Isn’t the reason people like you reject advanced stats tho is because it hurts their feelings? Because they are 100% accurate facts.

This season, Panarin ranked 148th in EVD xGAR (not amazing but above average)

While Kane ranked 846th is EVD xGAR (3rd last in the league ahead of Miles Wood and Mark Scheifele)

Of course there are other defensive stats, but they tell you the about the same thing

Well... pretty much everyone's is better than Kane's. An orange traffic cone is better than Kane defensively.

Panarin is way better on defense than Kane. Panarin is one of the highest in GAR and Kane is below average. It isn't even close

Eichel should be higher. Top 10 in scoring without a teammate in the top 50.

He didn't lead his team in 5v5 p/60 tho

I mean, I did use RAPM which adjusts your stats to ignore all teammates and competition

Ok, you did your homework. I respect that. Good to see people putting in an effort on CapFriendly, credit where it's due.

god some of these comments are gold lmao, I'd say Stone should be higher, I'd move Kubilik to above Tkachuk (Brady) and probably Kopi down, but it's just nitpicking... it's weird seeing a guy like Bjorkstrand in the bottom 1/2, and I'm like I could probably argue him to be above Guentzel, but there is definitely an argument that could be made to have that group (from Guentzel to Hischier) in just about any order

Because they are not solid concrete data. Quit trolling. The models available to the public are not 100% accurate lmfao. Not a single legitimate analysis would take Petterson over malkin headed into the 2020 playoffs.

in what world is Bjorkstrand above Guentzel LMFAO. also it shouldn't even be Guentzel, it should be malkin who would easily be above every player except a few

Points 💤 he is better (or at least similar) offensively tho, but also is far far worse defensively

How can you say a dude who was on pace for over 40 goals and 90 points and scored 40/76 last year, is not as good as Bjorkstand with a career high of 40 points? Jake’s career high in goals alone equals that. This year bjorkstrand was on pace for 60 points. Good, but not nearly as impressive as Jake.

Who cares if Bjork is better defensively. Jake is still solid in his own zone and neither are going to be selke players at any point in their career. It’s a mute point. Some of these advance stats need to die. PLD is by far the best CBJ forward anyways.

Bc I simply do not care about raw points, Jake is simply not good defensively, Bjorkstrand may not be Selke worthy, but he's certainly top 10-20%, you can't say that if they're not a Selke contender their defense is the same as a Patrick Kane or Kyle Connor lol (and Bjorkstrand had a better 5v5 P/60 than PLD, and was far better defensively, Bjorkstrandis CBJ's best player and it's really not close)

So based on your stats it says that the Dman Kane is responsible for gets a slot shot virtually every shift?

Jake is solid defensively. I watch him every night. It’s funny how it’s this fringe group of people on cap friendly that no one ever agrees with and just pulls players WAR stats for every argument. Jake is miles better than Bjorkstrand and so is PLD. Maybe a watch a game instead of looking at your excel sheets.
