mid level, who needs some TLC, but the Sabres just dont have time with UPL coming up. He can play for Detroit this year but if Detroit wants they could let him develop another year in the A as well

Wouldnt disagree with you, I've made this argument before with Oiler fans who wouldnt trade RNH for Laf

I'd be ok with that deal, our AHL goaltending wasnt great last year, so i'd like this to put Johansson in the AHL to develop. As goalies tend to have lower value I could see a token piece going with him, a 5th-7th to make up for the retention, though as a fan I don't think it would be necessary.
