Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
After this season use Hornqvist's money to sign Sprong long-term, Cole's money to sign bridge deals to Prow and Bengtsson, and sign Rust and Wilson to low $$$ deals.

I know Marchand is a stretch, but I really like the dynamic of him playing on Sid's wing and if the Bruins don't improve he is going to want another chance at a cup.

I don't think players can waive their NMC to be exposed in the expansions draft. I think the Penguins' best hope is to get him to waive his NMC to be traded before the expansion draft, if you don't want to expose Murray.

Besides if he doesn’t get traded before the expansion draft, he would have be protected. This would mean Murray would get scooped up in the draft or traded before the draft, placing Fleury back as the undisputed #1 goalie for the Pens. So were would it benefit Fleury to waive his NMC anyway?

They are allowed to waive their clauses prior to the expansion draft. If they don't then they have to be protected.

Didn't know they could do that for the expansion draft but that still leaves the question why would Fleury waive his? If Fleury doesn't, he would have to be protected, meaning Murray would get moved making Fleury the #1 goalie for a cup contender instead of the #1 for an expansion team that would be years from seeing the playoff let alone contending for the cup.

Fleury is likely to still be the starting goalie this season and even if he wasn't, if Las Vegas took Murray he would be the only option.

Players can waive NTC. Apparently Fleury will agree to it. Being the # 1 goalie with a new franchise might be the gig you wants. If nothing else, if Murray perform, Fleury could be bought out.
Marchand....I know he had a great year...still 7.25m a year....too much.
