Fairly realistic but not bad offseason

Description
Offseason breakdown:

Signings breakdown:
Barzy gets a 3 year bridge deal, 7 mil AAV is what he’ll probably make on a bridge. Pulock gets a very solid 6x6 contract. Toews gets maybe a bit more than he should be making right now, but in the long run the contract should be worth it.

Trade breakdowns:

CGY: Hickey goes to Calgary for family reasons. Iskakov is a solid boom or bust small center. If he pans out he could help Calgary’s center depth.

WPG: Leddy gets dumped yo Winnipeg for picks, he could definitely help that left side out.

DAL: This trade I definitely could see happening. It makes too much sense. Former 1st rounders from the same draft having trouble with management. Honka starts as a scratch, but if he proves his worth it could force a Mayfield trade to help the offense.

DET- saw a trade similar to this on a wings post. Not sure how highly the wings fans and management view Ras, but I’d imagine not that highly. I’d give him a shot on the third line, if he doesn’t work out I’d bring Wahlstrom up to take his spot.

Extra note: I’d fire Bridgeport’s coach, he blows

That Dallas trade is terrible. Ho-Sang has no trade value at the moment.

I like all of these and they all seem pretty realistic aside from Detroit. I don't think we'd get Rasmussen for them taking on Boychuk, unless Rasmussen has really fallen off.

That's been offered by a ton of Stars fans.

I don’t see you moving Boychuck’s contract AND acquiring Ras in the same trade. If you do it will cost you a decent amount more than that

Detroit values Rasmussen he was really good when not injured in Grand Rapids. You want to dump Boychuk okay for 1st + b prospect or pick but you’re not getting Ras.

Rasmussen has a role in DET, probably as a 3rd line C (which is why he played in GR for the entire season, to spend it playing C, instead of LW). You probably won't get him back as payment for a cap dump.

Like I said I wasn’t sure of Ras’ value. An alternative would j be the same trade, but the isles j getting a low pick instead. In that case, I’d probably call up Wahlstrom and give him a full time spot on the 3rd line

I’d do that trade then without Ras and with a top 5 protected instead of 10. I’d try for less restrictions since it’s so far out I wouldn’t want to push it any further back. That would be extremely hard for any GM to say we have another first but it could be potentially 4 drafts away (some GMs making that trade wouldn’t even get to use it).

I had a similar conversation with an Isles fan about Noah Dobson. He looks like his value should be lower because there was the 'too good to go back to junior, but not good enough to be an impact player in the NHL' season. He's then gone to the AHL and done well (though his skillset won't shine on the stat sheet, as his strong point is a bit odd. Imagine a better, faster and bigger Tomas Holmstrom.)

While that is true I still think Stevie Y will still be Detroit’s GM. I don’t wanna give up the 2021 1st because that would mean no picks in the 1st 2 rounds of the draft 2 years in a row. Anyways, I think I’d probably be willing to do top 5 protection instead of top 10

That would work. Like others have already said, the Wings wanted Rasmussen to get playing time at C which is why he wasn't in the NHL last season.

Similarly elite net-front presence is such an odd skillset for fans to evaluate, and I think honestly he will need some seasoning and developing in the A, but with the right pieces around him getting the puck to the dirty areas and he'll be a beast.

Too expensive for the last year of Leddy's contract. I would only do it if you retained 1.5-2M

I am one of the guilty poster. I love that swap of outcasts and I think that the risks/benefits/costs are the same for both team. I am happy to see that some Islanders fans sees the same think as me.

Done deal, where do I sign?

He is a 24 year old right handed defenseman some team is going to pony up something more than the head case that is Ho-Sang who is a winger. Hell if the price is this cheap the Devils are stupid not to trade for him considering the wasteland they have at right D.

It depends on what people think of both players. Honka hasn't shown really any NHL success, while Ho-Sang has shown a little bit. It's a risk for both sides but I think it's pretty fair.

Also, awesome avatar. I watch Bob's Burgers every day.

As someone who doesn't have children yet, I've always said I want my future daughter to be just like Louise. I'm still hoping that, the curse is part of the blessing.
