That deal isn’t awful, but the Isles would need Minnesota to retain at least 2m on the contract. That said, that’s probably reason why this deal fell through last TDL.

MTL probably says no. Dont need another Center and Rask looks like he is a bottom 6 center. those arent really that hard to find and can be found for much cheaper then 4 million a year

I’m not an expert but I don’t think MTL need Rask

For 1, I really don't like the Parise trade. The only way I'd take a Ladd for Parise trade is if we get significant compensation in return. Ladd is no longer productive while Parise can still put up 50 pt. seasons. He just had a 60 pt season last year and he spent some time on the Injury List. Sure, his contract sucks, but I'd rather take a productive Parise over Ladd any day.

Secondly, we already already loaded on wingers. No need for Boeser. Would I love to have Boeser? Absolutely, but the makeup of our roster just doesn't justify adding him. Dumba+ for a 1C makes for sense if he's on the move.

EDIT: I realize how confusing the injury list comment is. What I meant was, Parise was able to still hit the 60 pt. plateau even though he couldn't play a full 82 game slate.

Getting a 1C is virtually impossible & a lot more than Dumba+.

On Boeser though not on the market a RW scorer would be a big add & cost Dumba+.

Oh I agree on both comments. I was just pointing out why the trade wouldn't be a good idea from our side. But you're right, it doesn't make sense from your side as well. Plus I believe Benning said he's not getting moved

All true but again it’s not happening now but it could be in the future.

Much depends on how Podkolzin & Hoglander pan out along with if Toffoli resigns. The future can change Boesers fate due to the top 6-9 can be very deep in 2yrs

A hometown boy puts a bow on it if itcame to be.

Once again I 100% agree. The current makeup of the Wild says no to this trade but maybe in a couple of years a winger is what we need, not a center. Then a trade like this makes more sense
