Why would LA gave up all those pick just to move up a couple spot in the second round. Pilut have about no value, he have not much Nhl experience and mostly no success playing in it so at best moving him would land Buffalo a late round pick.

Why would the Kings do that? Give up two quality draft picks this year and move up a handful of spots for Pilut? I mean he's a decent prospect, but not worth all of that.

They get the highest pick out of all of them, drop the 3rd if its too much

it doesnt cost that much to move up 5 spots in the 2nd round. Pilut signed in the KHL anyway

If the Kings are going to package together draft picks to move up, they're likely going to try and get into the 20-25 range to try and snag Braden Schneider if he's still on the board.

For the picks you re giving up vs what you get you can prolly get a decent 4th or a late 3rd to go with it. Pilut adds a bit but not much. You overvalued your draft slots. Trading down is usually smart but it isn't this profitable.

Sanderson is getting pumped up the boards. McKenzie even said some scouts had him top 3/5.

That isn't nearly as valuable as you seem to think it is. Pick value is pretty much a flatline at this point in the draft. For 5 slots in the early 2nd you are looking at a 4th at best really.

A recent example from the top of my head, the leafs traded our 1st rounder down 5 slots and got the 76th pick in return. Your 2nd is only worth a bit less than our 1st so you should be able to get something after pick 85 depending on how far you are willing to move.

I figure the leafs can trade our 2nd for STL 2nd and get anh 4th in return this year (10 pick drop and we get 98 in return) for example.

If you think 2 2nds gets them into the 15 spots higher from the 2nd to the first round, i now understand why everyone is crying about this. It wont

He has it specifically because he wants to play in the NHL but not for Buffalo (it was playing under Botterill but i dont believe Adams changes anything). I am extremely familiar with his personal opinion on it, your wasting your time

I read that wrong, theyre still getting a roster player and moving up leafs didnt trade a young player

even if he does play in the NHL he has very little value. Im sure you know more about his contract situation than I do but I was just pointing out that the trade value is lopsided in Buffalo's favour.

I didn't say that two 2nds would get them into the 1st round. However, three 2nds might.

Schneider is ranked at 13 in the ISS rankings. He's in the late teens/early 20s in most. Only one ranking site had him outside of the 1st round at 34th (still before the Kings 2nd round picks).

You have VAN's 2nd in there, which is 43.
So your proposal is

38
Pilut

For

43
55
66

Which is crazy overvalued.

A more fair trade would be something more like:
38
Pilut

for

55
66/81
