What would Peg have to add to Copp to get Jokijaru?

That Columbus trade is very bad for us, you deal a prospect out of our position of greatest weakness and acquire a player from the area of our greatest strength. That doesn't make a lot of sense. However I do think that is fair value for Boeser, although I doubt Vancouver deals him for that

Why are the jets adding any rhd via trade when the ufa market should be decent, and there real need is 2c, possibly an upgrade of DeMelo pre expansion draft. But I don’t really see a substantial rhd being added over waivers, ufa, or possibly from within. 2c project please buffalo, possibly a super buy low on middlestadt

I think VAN will try a lot of other avenues to shed cap before actually considering trading Boeser... but they would think pretty hard about that offer, and it makes sense for both teams. 8th overall should get a good prospect and the Canucks badly need cap space to upgrade their D. Boeser would be lights out on Eichel’s wing for the Sabres.

8oa for Boeser is not fair.

Who is the 8th?
Guarantee he’s equal value without a doubt?
How long to develop?
What RW is available?

Just a few Q’s get the picture?

8th o/a for Vancouver means you can keep Markstrom and Toffoli. There is never any guarantee in any draft pick. There is probably about 25% chance player at 8 is around the same as Boeser, 25% he is better, 25% he is close but not as good and 25% he is not nearly as good. It is a balancing act. Noone ever trades a player for a draft pick knowing that they will get back a player as good, if that were the case noone would ever trade a draft pick for a player

Sure you may not think so but I do, hence my opinion. 8th OA will likely be Holtz, Perfetti, Raymond, or Lundell obviously depending on who is available and how teams 1-7 draft. Guarantee that one of Holtz or Raymond are there though, so those are two elite wingers who will both be better than Boeser. As to how long, who can say? Likely 2-3 years but it saves Vancouver 5+ mil if they move Boeser and they could give guys like Kole, Hoglander, or even Pod a chance for more ice time.

This is why it won’t happen. Better to know what you have than not know what you will get.

No need to push a trade to move Boeser that same player would maybe available if try later.

So you would trade your 2021 first for Montour then?

We definitely aren't trading Jokiharju for Vesalainen

The Savard proposal is at least a decent try at good value for the Jackets, but we don't really need more offensive defensemen, and we're not really interested in Mittelstadt-as-a-reclamation-project. So that's kind of a "thanks but no thanks".

Neither would I but Heinola and Copp for Joki is a big overpay.

If you are higher on Heinola then you are on Jokiharju then I agree. I feel they have similar potential but Jokiharju is more known with a larger nhl sample size so he offers the higher return right now. Maybe Heinola and Roslovic depending on how highly you value that player as opposed to Copp

What would it cost? Or what would Columbus be looking for in exchange for Savard? I saw somewhere that he could be a potential trade candidate, maybe not?

The closest thing we have to consensus is that he'd be worth at least a 1st at the deadline. Otherwise... well, some of us want to keep him regardless and others want to trade him on the theory that we won't be able to keep him for cap reasons or expansion draft reasons or both. So it's kind of up in the air. Personally, I want that #2C hole covered if we're going to give him up early - either that, or pay the Silly Trade Deadline Rate now.
