You do a nice job of thinking out of the box. Good thoughts here. I'm not sure CGY can take too much extra cap. I'm also not sold Georgiev can succeed as a starter period let alone here where he'll face a lot of high danger shots.

It was like that (high-danger chances against) in NYR during the early half the season before they got their defense under wraps, so it wouldn't be new to him. I figured Georgiev would be better than any 2nd round goaltender that CHI would go after in the draft.

I would as well; wanted to try a different target. Realistically, I feel these young goalie tandems in PIT and NYR are going to follow CBJ's lead and keep a tandem as long as possible. I have a sinking feeling we're going to sign Holtby.

Underselling Saad there, Alexeyev adds to the D core log jam of youth, rather not move Murphy anyways, he's one of the better D men on the team at this point.

MEP was a massive Flames fan growing up in Norway, he would be pretty sad to be traded from Calgary.

Not saying Flames shouldn't take this deal though

I wouldn't be opposed to Pelletier as an alternative, but Pettersen is my preference. CHI is likely to be extremely familiar with his game while watching Mitchell at Denver.

As a Caps fan I'd pass. Alexeyev has great potential. Plus we have Carlson-Jensen already in our top 4RHD.

Appreciate thinking outside of the box, but Hawks can do better, Washington trade only adds to a logjam of D guys, Alexeyev isn't a number 1 in my opinion and we have plenty of #2 and #3 guys plus Murphy can easily get a late 1st plus a B prospect. I get that alexeyev is a A- prospect but giving Seeler and Murphy for a 5th and him is an overpay.

We have Barratt so there is no reason to pick up Pettersen given we have Toews, Dach, Strome, Kampf, Barratt, and Carps as centers. We definitely should not be retaining on Saad for that package and frankly way better off expending saad for $4.5M for 4 or 5 years.
