I don't think the VAN trade would be a 1-for-1, but it's an interesting concept.

Also, Fabbri will resign.

Oilers pass. Helm is too pricy for the role Edmonton would be using him in. I’m not against bringing him in but cap space doesn’t make it worth while. Sorry

If DET retains 25% would it be worth it? Holland signed him to these extensions so he obviously sees some value in him

I don't see any room for Fabbri in VAN's top 9, so I don't think they'd be interested in him. I think a couple of early picks or one of the young defenseman on DET would be more appealing to them.

Ya that’s honestly the only reason I’m interested knowing holland has this loyalty thing to him lol. I think with some retention there is definitely something there. I’m personally not a fan of it but it wouldn’t be surprising in anyway. I’m not sure if 25% is enough depends heavily on if holland is able to open up space elsewhere.

With Krug walking and a the next crop of defenceman not having a ton of experience under the belt, I thought adding a guy with one year left would be appealing to a contender like Boston, especially with a low cap hit.

As a Detroit fan im not really a fan of any of this, apart from some of the resigns, but I think Bertuzzi is a bit too high. I think 1-1.5 million less than Tom Wilson's contract is about right.

Zadina - Bo - Toffoli
Virt - Gaudette - Pearson

I think the plan is for Hoglander to start in VAN next season, and I think they would only do that if they have a top 9 spot open for him -- so I was thinking their top 9 would look like this (without Fabbri):

Miller - Petterson - Zadina
Pearson - Horvat - Toffoli
Hoglander - Gaudette - Virtanen

Fabbri had a bounce back year, Zadina hasn’t lived up to 6th overall.

Wrong Zadina was playing great until his ankle injury. He was one of our better players. Sorry Boeser isn't worth Zadina he has health issues as well.

I really can’t see Hog starting in the NHL, especially with a shortened season I think he would need at least a season with Utica, and in that time frame you can peddle off Fabbri if he doesn’t work out.

Miller - Petterson - Zadina
Pearson - Horvat - Toffoli
Hoglander - Gaudette - Virtanen

Would you rather Nemeth as a bottom pair or an AHL’er

So he has one good stretch, don’t get me wrong he tore up with the Griffins but his inconsistency is worrying and the fact that other prospects are being called up before him puts him further down the chart. Along with Rossi he’s not going to be that future #1 RW in detroit as long as Manthas there.

Who cares if Zadina is our #2 RW nobody expected him to be our #1 RW with Mantha on the team. But i have faith that Zadina in time will be better then Boeser.

This year at least, Svechnikov will be more ready for an NHL spot before Zadina, Boeser will already have the #2 RW. Even without Boeser Zadina would be a third liner at best. Honestly he’ll probably be the 1st line RW in GR for a legitimate part of the season.
