Kings will give you a 2021 5th for Maata unrestrained, but that's only if our other options fall through.

Leafs aren't giving up the better, younger player and adding a higher pick. Plus Murphy just adds more cap. Easy no from Toronto.

honestly with sutter coming in I think we see Strome gone. Sutter will come cheaper and the 4 center lines can be

Toews
Dach
Sutter
Kampf

plus chicago can get a nice return for Strome. Top 6 wing, picks, defensive depth, etc.

Comparing apples to oranges. The trade might work out well in year one but after that it will be a massive loss overall. Personally I would rather keep Dermott even in a one for one. Cap combined with future potential.

Agreed. It's apples and oranges alright! A true 2-way NHL player vs a hope/dream might become a reliable Dman one day. You do understand that chart....right? Player A...plays against subpar competition...with more help from their Dpair partner...with FAR more Ozone starts...and produces worse. This is like trying to defend Mike Smith because he's such a good skater...BUT...wait...he doesn't stop the puck from going in the net so who cares?

Dermott isn’t remotely close to being better than Murphy but good try. He is younger, yes, so he could get better as he develops but Murphy is by far the better player right now

Pius is listed as C/LW, so playing him on the LW is fine, but he should not be on the top line. 3rd line is probably about right at least in the beginning. He defeintly should not be swapped with dtrome here, we tried strome on the wing once and he was terrible

I agree that the Leafs would say no to that deal. Dermott has shown great potential and really stepped up when the injury bug hit the team this year. They've brought him along slowly and won't bail on his development now and miss out on his best year.

The Devils can't trade a conditional pick

They are both 2 way nhl Dmen, I made a fair assessment and let you know why I didn’t like the deal. You can keep your ****ty attitude to yourself.
