I think asking alittle much from Ottawa but for one of those picks I most certainly can see interested.
Hall I don’t get why people think it’s that far fetched he loved it here didn’t want to leave and now that the management team is gone that traded him he’s still got a lot of friends on the team if can make the money work I certainly think he would be very interested in returning.

Ya I dont think many speedy goal scoring wingers would turn down a chance to play with McDavid

Ottawa would strongly consider that simply because for under 4 million he brings good value and a great mentor that could significantly help build a very strong pp as he did with Edmonton. Ottawa will have a ton of youth down the middle having a vet that can switch wings provides additional flexibility. He’s a very well spoken great veteran than has a lot of positive traits you’d wants around youth. Like his conditioning training. Great deal for Ottawa people need to stop viewing anyone that makes money as cash dumps lol seems any player that makes a living gets treated like that on this site completely ignorant to the positives the player brings.

Hall was better with Leon. Hall and mcdavid both rely on their speed and transporting the puck themselves since the nhl only allows one puck at a time the two of them on the same line became a waste of talent. But Leon has a bit different skill set that meshed very well with hall same way Leon and mcdavid worked together.

I promise you no one is paying Edmonton a second and a third round pick for James Neal. Are we really going to pretend that he wasn’t traded one for one to get Calgary to take on one of the worst contracts in the league, Milan Lucic. Despite the good things that he can do, he’s 32 and will be 35 by the end of the contract. Even if you retain salary that contract is still bloated and do you really think Edmonton’s going to eat 2 mil/year for 3 years in addition to the 750k they’re already eating for the same 3 years off the Lucic deal?

The same way a good player on a great deal has increased value, a good player on a bad deal has decreased value. There’s a reason Toronto had to pay a 1st round pick to get rid of Marleau at 6+mil and 8 months later San Jose is getting a conditional 2nd round pick for Marleau at 700k despite him producing less. Contracts matter.

I don't think that's the guy you want mentoring young players. I think that he is a great player and brings a lot to a team despite his time in Calgary, but I also think that he is Phil Kessel lite in the dressing room. Great in a room with veteran guys, but I don't think I would have him mentor an up and coming team
