MIN declines. Stalock is our best goalie as of now, so unless we get a better one from somewhere, we have no reason to trade him. Also, the price is not good enough. I would take out Bunnaman completely, as he is a C-tier prospect. Then, I would switch the 4th rounder into a 3rd. After all, Stalock had a career year and managed 38 games with a .910 save%, so he is worth a 3rd at least. And going back to my first point, Wild needs a legitimate starter before this trade can happen.

Stalock was one of the worst goalies in the entire league this season. Though in comparison to Dubnyk (the worst goalie in the league) i can see how someone would think he'd be aight.

One of the worst? how'd you get that? Mini made a run later in the season after being pretty brutal for the most part and Stalock was the biggest reason why. Is he a proven NHL starter? maybe not, but as a tandem or a backup that gets 30 starts he's one of the best. Plus he's probably on the best goalie contract in the NHL 785K for two more years

Mountains of data. Stalock ranked 47th out of 50 goaltenders in Goals Saved Above Expected (Dubnyk ranked 50th) in the league. That's pretty horrible.

We can represent his performance visually too. Here's Stalock. You're going to want to notice the "team" column. That's how good the defense is in front of your goalie. Minnesota's is off the charts good. You want your goalie to be better than that team column, or else he's underperforming. Stalock is vastly underperforming despite being given perhaps the easiest work load in the entire league.

Let's compare that to a "bad" goalie. Here's Henrik Lundqvist. Defense in front of him is absolute crap, and despite that he's crushing Stalock. That cap between "team" and goalie performance tends to remain constant. So you'd think someone like Lundqvist on Minnesota would basically be a Vezina candidate and Stalock on the Rangers would be in the ECHL.

PHI fans (aka you) should have been nicer a year ago when MTL fans (aka me) proposed Shaw+Mete/Juulsen+ for Ghost. The value was actually on point for people able to see how Ghost's game is flawed.

https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/234957?post_id=905183

A year later, MTL traded Shaw for a 2nd and a 3rd, got better results than expected from Chariot and got more proofs Ghost isn’t worth the risk.

Pass.

Sure here's Ullmark this year and last year. Not really what you'd consider a starter.... Underperforming relative to his defense (negative Goals Saved Above Expected) in both years

Thank you so much! Basically kind of my opinion of him. His save percentage and all that look fine, but it never felt like he was good and this kind of proves that. May show we need to go out and get a better starter

no problem. yeah Buffalo has a top 10 defense that tends to not give up a lot of high quality chances so when you look at goalie metrics that don't take shot quality into account (Sv%, GAA) you won't be able to see that it's really the defense that's carrying the goaltenders.

With your cap space, I think a UFA goaltender is the way to go. I'd look at Khudobin, Greiss and Crawford if you don't want to try to convince Lehner to come back.

I have looked at all these guys as options. I’m also interested in the idea of acquiring Raanta from Arizona as they should be open to moving him and he could be our bonafide guy for a season

Raanta’s great. And with Arizona’s cap squeeze it could work.
