It’s not. He’s a player that played for them in the Stanley cup finals and provided secondary scoring. Incredibly cheap. Even if he’s just depth for them, that’s worth more than a 4th.

Add something to that 2nd or make it a '22 1st. Stepan's looked an ok hockey player. But ok isn't worth 6.5 mil, and if you don't move a contract of roughly that size, you're massively over the cap, the market is weighted heavily in favour of teams willing to take on cap.
