So you want to Wild to trade the only young center we have that belongs in the NHL and our best asset to get us another center for a left shot winger that we already have a million of and a good-not-great goalie?

No thanks. If we trade Brodin we need a C and I can't see us moving Ek, period, unless it's for someone like Eichel which isn't happening.

I just didn't know Erikson Ek was that important to you guys. What if we incorporate Strome in the trade or remove Erikkson Ek from the deal?

Did you just say you're not trading EK unless it's for a player of Eichels calibre????

Yes. It's not because he's this star player but right now if we trade him then Rask (who belongs in Europe) is our 2C and the year after that Rask is our 1C. We just can't afford to trade him. He's a great middle 6 C, probably won't put up more than 40-50 points in a season but he shut down McDavid very well for us the past couple years and defensive guys like that are important.

I wouldn't like it personally but I'm not a fan of Strome, the games I watched he wasnt anything special. If we trade Brodin to NYR it's Chytil or bust for me and I can't see the Rangers moving Chytil.

I get that, but saying you're not going to trade him unless you get an Eichel caliber player back is insanely stupid..

Dallas decline. We are going to let another team overpay (money, term or both) for Strome and keep our money for Miro, Hintz and Gurianov.

It's not stupid at all, but thanks for the insult.

My point is that he's too important to trade unless we are getting the true 1C we've needed since we became a franchise. Eichel is an extreme example but again that's the point. We need more centers, we can't be trading away the only young one we have. It would be different if we had two more centers that belong in the top 9 but we don't.

In no way am implying Ek is worth Eichel straight up, for the record.

Definitely not trading Chytil, even if it's for a defensive stud like Brodin. But I don't see why you wouldn't do Brodin for Buchnievich 1 for 1. Buchnievich's advanced analytics indicate that he's actually a top line winger, and since Minnesota doesn't have many Russians, he could help Kaprizov too. Also, what's the price on Foligno?

Folignos price is high I'd imagine. There's a good chance he's our next captain.

I get the Chytil bit, but we have zero need for more wingers. If we trade Brodin, has to be for a top 6 C and for me Strome won't cut it. Think if it this way: we could have moved Brodin for Trocheck at the deadline and Guerin didn't pull the trigger, I don't see why he would trade Brodin for a worse center such as Strome.

In that case, how about Jordan Greenway's price? His defensive numbers are also good

I'd imagine Greenway is available. He has good upside with his size and skating but in afraid he's stuck down the lineup with how many wingers we have. Not sure what the Rangers have that we'd want for him though since we'd probably move him for a center or package him along with Brodin/Dumba to get the center we need.

How about Greenway and a 3rd for Georgiev? Dubnyk proved that he really sucks so I’d imagine you’d be shopping for a goalie.

It's probably fair, but Guerin has spoken very highly about Kahkonen publically and based on that I think the organization views him as our future starter. I'd imagine if we add a goalie it will be a 1 or 2 year stop-gap while we develop Kahkonen
