Do they really need another offensive Dman?

Esa fell off compared to last year. NYR decline pretty easily.

Dallas needs offense, period. It really doesn't matter what position that offense is coming from. With the number of defensive forwards they have along with guys like Heiskanen, Oleksiak, and Johns on the blue line, they can sacrifice losing Lindell if it means they can bring in more offense.

Of course, none of this is going to matter until Dallas actually gets a head coach that knows how to implement a system that doesn't stifle their own offense and suffocate their offensive minded players.

He's still a stud defensively and comes at about the same price than what it would take to pay tony long term, also balances out our D with nils in line for 21-22. Id take it all day

There's one Bruce Boudreau on the market if you want to see Corey Perry in your top-6 night in and night out

Dallas accept IMO and the value is pretty even on both sides. But we would definitively need a new coach like some already posted. A coach that understand how offense is created in the new NHL.

I am not an expert on the needs of the Rangers, but if you put value in strong defensive play and positionning, elite play on the PK and some (25 to 30 points) offensive skills, then Esa is your men. Lindell can play close to 30 minutes per game and many, if not all, difficult minutes. It's not flashy but it's as necessary than scoring goals.

You also get Faksa who is right now a better all around NHL hockey player than Andersson.

In Dallas we have too much of that and not enough offense. That is why I say we do that trade. That being said, I am pretty sure that Nill would not want to trade Lindell.

Question for Rangers' fan, why trade DeAngelo? Why not try to trade Smith. The way I understand, he has to submit a list of 10 teams where he agrees to go. There must a team there that would be willing to absorb his contract if you give that team juicy draft picks.

It seems, on my end, a little "suicidal" to trade such a young RD like him. He is just getting out of his bubble.

Just the rangers situtation imo
1. Fox has a nearly identical skill set to tony and is better in his own zone, honestly don't think pp would miss a beat if you swapped fox in for tony
2. With lundkvist arriving in 21/22 tony would have to switch to the left anyway
3. We unfortunately owe trouba 8/year and fox needs the bag soon too

If rangers held off on Trouba last year I would be all for signing tony but offensive rhd is an area of strength organizationally right now. I think Lindell could be a good partner for the younger offensive minded dmen we have coming up and costs similar to what tony would cost, advanced stats be damned
