Pens could use some depth forwards, Leafs could use a cheap Dman and some picks

I've been a proponent of letting Riikola go elsewhere to get a shot. He is a steady NHLer level guy.

I dont think the picks are needed because Pittsburgh isnt getting a steady NHLer back. Malgin would be a 14/15F, most likely waived and considered an injury callup type. Bracco might be Sprong 2.0. But as I mentioned, I want Riikola to get a fresh shot.

As a pens fan who's second team is the leafs, let me explain the reasoning for this trade being bad. Bracco is a talented playmaker with nhl potential. Malgin is a decent middle six forward with potential to be more. Riikola got less nhl time than ahl-er Zach trotman. Pens have to add way more.

I've seen riikola in action and really like him. I just think him and mid round picks are good enough for one of malgin or bracco, not both
