How does NSH protect Josi, Ellis, Ekholm, Fabbro, and now Ristolainen in the expansion draft?

they could but you would risk losing a forward instead of one of them

Preds decline. That's way too much for Risto. Watson and a 2021 2nd would be reasonable IF they were interested in him - but I don't see why they would be.
