Of the many terrible things you have done here, I think scratching Nylander is quite possibly the worst.

Nylander reminds me of Perlini with how streaky he is. Where else does Nylander fit in the lineup? Caggiula's spot as 3LW? Its hard to have Caggiula's grit/defense/speed on the bench. Nylander doesn't do anything that stands out, he is either all over the tv screen or non-existent and he doesn't get dirty enough to play in the bottom-6 regularly.

CGY can just re-sign their own players instead of giving up assets for Maatta

It's essentially a cap-dump and the Penguins will realize that. Plus DeSmith solves the backup goaltender vacancy.

Brodie made $4.6mil, Hamonic made $3.8mil...there is no way in hell both of those guys sign for that same dollar amount, even coming off regressed seasons. 2 teams will overpay and they'll take their money and play elsewhere.

Correct. It's a cap dump in the case that the Hawks need to free up cap space and he's the likely candidate outside of De Haan, Maattaa, and maybe Zack Smith. He can also yield the best return.

Sign Brodie at 5x5, let Hamonic walk. Kylington or Yelesin play the 3rd pair RD.

Problem solved

The reason Nylander is either all over your TV screen or non-existent is because he got played an average of 12 minutes a night, well below average for where he should be playing. The kid is a great playmaker, and has had multiple highlight reel passes and assists to show for it.

He produced very well when he was demoted to the bottom 6 during a couple of his rough patches this year. Here are two highlights from when he was playing with bottom 6 players.

He should definitely be in the Top 9 at the very least. He can play both wings, so bump Shaw down to the 4th line.

Don't forget Forbort and Gustafsson, who's contracts are also expiring.

lol here we go. Okay then Stan, correct our cap issue. Who can we get rid of (realistically) that would not only solve our cap issue, but yield something of importance as a return?

Flames have literally 11 NHL D at camp
Giordano
Brodie
Hanifin
Andersson
Forbort
Gustafsson
Stone
Yelesin
Valimaki
Mackey
Kylington

They can afford to allow a few to walk

Why don't you go look at the many Chicago ACGM’s that are totally fine without giving away Saad for free?

All of those include trading De Haan, Maattaa, Smith, and stupidly Kubalik. Again, a ****-ton of trades with unrealistic returns. I then came across one that had the Hawks going into next year with Delia and Lankinen as the goalies, trading Kubalik and Strome in the process...saw that it was you, and knew exactly not to take you seriously anymore

DeSmith, 3ed, 5th for Saad

Pens can't add a $6M cap, Saad at $6M is a cap dump, but at least you value isnt that far off compared to the normal seven 1st and the first born son most Blackhawk fans on her seem to want for Saad. Add $1.5 retention.

But to the "Saad allows a trade to his hometown" He doesn't have a NTC or NMC.

LOL you saw a post titled ”Lets spend 2 million on goaltending” and you though that was a serious appraisal of next season.

Also, it was Delia and Nalimov. Not that you could remember what you saw 15 seconds ago.

Sorry we don't want to give you a top line forward for one of your spare goalies. Chicago also doesn't touch this trade as is, I think you know that.

Also he does have a modified No-Trade clause next season.

And then you trade us DeBrincat for Nurse... you guys could honestly benefit with Nurse, and if you get Lafreniere he could replace DeBrincat and then you don’t have to scratch Nylander. If you get Nurse you could either get rid of De Haan or play him on the 3rd pairing with Nurse on the 2nd to get the D core better.
