Things wrong with Chitownfan92s last post

Created by: Kyle_Davidson
Team: 2020-21 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 17, 2020
Published: Jul. 17, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
1. Signs Kubalik for 3 years at 4.75 AAV. This term takes Kubalk directly to UFA, and the AAV is high for a bridge deal.
2. Signs Dylan Strome for 4 years at 4 AAV. The AAV is fine, but the deal once again takes him directly to UFA.
3.Trades away Saad for no significant asset in return. An AHL goalie, a third round pick 2 years from now, and a 5th this year. Cites a backup goalie problem in the comments, but hawks fans will know Delia is capable of backup duty.
4. Signs Caggulia for less than his qualifying offer, which literally would not happen.
5. Trade Olli Maatta to CGY for 2 5ths, when he is worth more than that... (He was worth Kahun and a 5th last year and had a better year this year than last)
6. Gives the Hawks the first overall pick and Doesn't play him with Kane (Tisk Tisk)
7. The second line of Debrincat-Strome-Kane has not faired well in the past, tries it again.
8. Has Zach Smith playing in the top 12, while other notable forwards are scratched or not on the NHL roster. (More below)
9. Has Alexander Nylander scratched, despite the fact that he is objectively better than 5 forwards on his roster.
10. Does not have Pius Suter in the lineup, someone who is extremely likely to be on the opening day roster.
11. Does not have Ian Mitchell in the lineup, someone who is also expected to be on the opening night lineup.
12. Has Nicolas Beaudin scratched, compared to having him log top pair minutes in the AHL.
13. Has Seabrook playing ahead of Murphy in the lineup.
14. Plays Kubalik on the incorrect side.
15. Some of these may have been a tad bit nit-picky, but instead of just nit-picking ill be nice enough to show him how its done.

Who says this is an unrealistic offseason?

Devils accept if they let Mueller walk. Mueller is so confusing. Played pretty well on the top line and terrible on 2nd or third. He liked Naz's system I guess but Naz isn't the head coach anymore. De Haan would effectively take over the first pairing with Smith on the second and Butcher on the third. It's still bad but not as bad.

I think it's a really good fit, and It's usually a mainstay in my posts.

Honestly, from what Ive heard, Seabs is looking pretty good, granted Kane is never gonna **** talk his own guys. But if thats the case, I think Mitchell probably starts in the AHL and I could also see them giving Kalynuk a shot in the NHL at first. Hes basically in the same position as mitchell but hes a year older, and less depth on the LHD side especially if we trade De Haan/Maatta

Fair, but he mostly plays on the left side. In the other post the top LW were Laf and Debrincat. No way he plays RW with Toews.

I've heard Kalynuck would start in the AHL. JC isn't going to glue seabs to the bench if he can play, but I have confidence that he will put out the best defensive configuration possible.

I just think with Murphy, Boqvist, and Seabs all in the play, theres a higher likelihood they make space for Kalynuk rather than Mitchell. Maybe they trade Murphy or someone gets hurt, but they probably wouldnt keep Mitchell up unless he is playing in most of the games

You delivered an excellent fatality to that crap guy and his crap post, with a FIFTEEN point defense. Well done, man.

Dont know if they would give up a 4th.. seems like they would just send a 7th. Even then I doubt they are looking to take dead salary. They aren't in the best cap situation and are looking to stay away from the cap ceiling

If they have the cap room this isn't a bad move. Smith is good on the PK and is a decent fourth liner. He is not worth 3.25 and that is why he is considered a dump. There is only one year left so if they completed there other offseason business taking him on doesn't make their team worse and they are upgrading a couple of picks in the process
