Please no more Biega in Vancouver. I am going to be honest with you that he has only played on some of the worst teams in the NHL and is at best a 9th or 10th defenceman on most teams. I think he has outstanding character but just do not see him as a fit to come back to Canucks.

Haha I'm with you man. I feel like a roster player would have to come back in this and I have a soft spot for the bulldog. Pick any fringe guy with 1 year left making under 1 mil.

A 3rd is WOEFULLY poor of a return for taking on those two guys.

Ok, what does it take then?

Roussel has value imo. Detroit could probably flip him for another 3rd at the deadline next year.

So I believe that removing the 4th gives fair value for taking on Benn (ie Biega for Benn+3rd)
Roussel is tricky, because his contract is longer. Yes Detroit might be able to flip him if his play continues, but if it were 1 year, they could ask for a pick or prospect to take him on this year, and then repeat the move with another expiring deal next offseason. I would say Roussel would need at least a 2nd or a solid prospect (read not Hoglander, Demko tier.) to take on, I don't know Vancouver's depth chart too well though, so couldn't suggest someone off the top of my head. Detroit's big need is high end talent, as opposed to prospect depth, so the draft pick option is preferable unless you have a good goalie prospect below Demko.
