People keep forgetting that Krejci is a good player, Krug is part of the deal (even though the deal itself is dumb because that would never happen), and the Bruins take in Okposos contract

You are leaving out crucial details lol

Krug is walking in UFA. Krejci is getting $7.25M and then walking just like Krug. Those are "crucial" details.

Its a dumb deal for all parties involved (teams and players), but if it somehow were to happen, it would not be "trash" at all

The crazy thing is Krejici would decline to even come to Buffalo. So no one this would even happen.

Krejci is still playing this year and is a fantastic top 6 center. his contract doesnt mean anything because it expires next year.
Krug is a sign and trade so 100% value

AGAIN: I SAID THE TRADE ITSELF IS DUMB. KRUG WOULD NEVER SIGN AND TRADE AND EICHEL ISNT BEING TRADED

But: In terms of value, it is NOT "garbage" and Krug, krejci, and Okposo are absolutely "crucial" to the deal

Exactly, there are a NUMBER of reasons this deal doesnt happen, but one of them isnt because its "trash" for the sabres

Krug as UFA is going to get a NTC in a his contract...not going to Buffalo. Even Krejci is protected from going to Buffalo. Sorry, it's a ridiculously bad trade for the Sabres, Eichel and all those picks for Pasternak.

Guys leading the NHL in goals and people still get his name wrong. Sheesh, just call him pasta.

Thanks for the info. For some reason, I thought he was. Maybe cause he apparently is buds with that Canadian/Swede Nylander.

You are the only one who understood the deal.
You are correct it would never happen for many reasons, but it is a GREAT DEAL for the Sabres and not trash.
I am not surprised at how many Sabre fans thought this deal was trash, But they get most of their opinions from the local news and rarely watch a game.
Boston makes this trade to get a top five NHL center. IMO it is a HUGE over payment.
Buffalo makes this deal to get to the playoffs.

Who cares about picks 3 through 7, all of those picks do not equal taking on Okposo's salary.

Yeah, And i seriously dont mean to offend you in saying its bad. I really dont
Im just saying, there are no sign and trades like that anymore in hockey (if there ever were), and truthfully, the bruins dont want to give up those three for Eichel and a 8th overall pick, its not worth it.
But no, the trade itself isnt bad valuewise by any means for the Sabres, they just might not like it, which is its own story

I completely agree with every single comment you made above as well.
While a signed Krug and Pasternak is close to fair, adding Krejci while taking on Okposo tilts the scales totally toward the Sabres.
IDK what Sabre fans are missing, I really think when they see an Eichel trade they automatically say no.
Regardless, I am happy at least one person saw that the value exchange greatly favored Buffalo.

Just had a thought, Buffalo gives Boston first round picks from 2020 and 2021 instead of all of the picks from 2020, then at the TDL Boston wants to get Krejci back and gives them the 2021 pick. LOL of course it would never happen, it would reek of collusion but what a delicious idea of keeping Boston under that cap.

Its getting a bit too hypothetical for me lol

But yeah Sabres fans are going nuts with his value. They dont get that when a player wants out, his value is lowered. They literally cant accept the facts in the situation
