Cirelli is a bargain at 3.25. I can definitely see a team with cap space making a run at him for 4.5

As a Wings fan, I’d definitely consider this. We need a 2C and Value looks fair.

There is team friendly then there is screwing themselves. This is definitely the latter. Any number of teams will be willing to offer Cirelli double that, and Sergachev nearly the same. Those contracts are totally unrealistic.

Not necessarily. they could be money heavy in the last year to raise the price of a qualifying offer and be paid close to 7-8m a year after this contract. also just because a team offers them money doesnt mean they chase it, they have to sign that offer so tampa with no state tax can easily offer less than other teams

Why help Tampa out of their cap trouble for a guy who isn't gonna be around when the Wings are actually competitive?

There is offer less, like a million because of taxes but there are many teams that would offer both of those guys $6M+, the state income tax doesn’t offer that big a discount.

Devils have 0 interest. If they move a pick that valuable it'll be for an established young player not a 30 year old vet.

Yeah lets help Tampa get better by being able to sign all their good young talent and take on their aging, bad contracts for no future pay off. It's like Wings fans forget they're rebuilding.

Tyler Johnson is a solid 2C. The Red Wings are in desperate need of adding at least 1 top 6 caliber forward, even if they’re not going to be around in the long run.

How can we forget. Rebuilding doesn't mean just be terrible over and over again. You have to trying to improve. Tampa is going to get serg and cirelli under contract somehow id rather benifit from it. We'll still be bad with him but at least have another center.
