Were not trading a first to get rid of Steen

Created by: BluesBandit
Team: 2020-21 St. Louis Blues
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 18, 2020
Published: Jul. 19, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Winnipeg deal based on Stanley seeming to stagnate like Walman. Teams swap prospects and Bozak replaces Little.

Left 671k to make up for if either Dunn or Petro wants some odd number. Petro deal is equivalent to another team offering him 9.7 per year over 7.

Gunnarsson deal is to any team but I know Nashville is in search of 3LHD. Allen deal is similar. He replaces Holtby and basically does what he did last year with Binnington for Samsonov.

If Dunn and Petro cost more, we’d buyout Steen before paying a first in a good draft for someone to take him and that’d save us 2 million more.

Bozak and Gunnarsson deals aren't giving up enough. Allen deal is likely also too expensive for Washington. If they want a 1B for Samsonov someone Greiss will be an affordable UFA option, there are a fair number of UFA goalies this summer. A team that does take Allen would be at least taking him on as a partial cap dump.

AND HE HAS A FULL NTC. The only way he’s not on the Blues next year is if he gets hurt in the playoffs or retires

I don’t see a lot of interest in Bozak with a flat cap

There's a lot of teams that need centers, I could see some teams being interested in Bozak, also he only has a 10 team no trade list so of the 20 teams that he can be traded to there's gotta be at least one that could want/use him.

I think it'll be far easier to move Bozak then Allen if the Blues do, plenty of goaltenders available in free agency and very few centers.

Its assuming that Little is going on LTIR which seems very likely at this point, they only have a few RFA'S to sign this offseason whenever it is and none of them are getting large increases so they should have plenty of cap space to add Bozak if they wanted to and if he'd waive or doesn't have Winnipeg on his 10 team no trade list.

You're going to have to retain money on Bozak or dump him for like a 4th.

Yeah a 4th, I'm sure there will be a team wiling to trade a 4th round pick for Bozak.
