My guesses.

Ottawa passes.
TB can't believe you offered that much for Johnson and accept immediately.
Chicago needs goalies....

Graves > Zadorov and he'll be cheaper. No to Barrie, Bura definitely got more than 2 years on that deal. I think Winnipeg only makes that deal if you retain on Cole. There's no reason for Ottawa to make that trade. And if you'd even be able to get Formenton in that deal, you shouldn't trade him. He could become a really good 3rd line winger (maybe even 2nd line). And Johnson would be available for way less because Tampa needs him to leave to sign their RFA's. And Bellemare gets a 5th at best IMO

Donskoi is a fine player and I like that he's a RH shot, but Formenton's value has done nothing but trend UPWARD since the 2017 draft and I can't see OTT giving him (and a 2nd) for Donskoi who will be in his UFA season just as OTT is looking to start making an impact.

Ugh this is just a hot mess

Avs dont need to sign Barrie,
They arent going to waste cap space on Maroon
The trades are just 100% weird, no rhyme or reason to it, just undoing what the Avs roster structure is.

You killed one of the better bottom 6s in the whole league with these moves....and Dickinson as 4C? did you just pick that guy at random, hes not an NHL level talent,

No Graves, No Nichushkin? What the heck

I wouldnt mind if maroon replaced nieto.. but everything else is terrible. I hope nobody gets injured with this 20 man roster

there is 0 need for Maroon with how the Avs would go into he offseason.
they still have a bottom 6 of Bellemare, Calvert, Jost, Compher, Nuke and Donskoi if they add a 2nd line winger.
Plus you have Kaut and O'Connor in the mix.

It would just be a weird roster block add

I'm not convinced O'Connor will be an NHL regular, maroon would be a nice addition if they plan on moving zadorov, picks up the toughness and hitting loss

You’re missing the point, avs have already 6 nhlers for three bottom 6. Then you have a crop of young guys in the ahl who could make the team as the 13th forward, which includes kamanev

Avs don’t need to be signing a ufa 13th Forward

It's nice to see an original take, but as others have said this is a hot mess.

Zadorov is signed for too much, maybe even $1m too much.

Burakovsky is $500k - $1m too high with only 2 year term.

Hall won't sign for that little, especially not on a 1 year deal.

Barrie is an intriguing idea but pretty unrealistic given that he'll want to play on a team where he can be the PPQB. Barrie-Girard would have a lot of trouble in their zone due to lack of size and Barrie's poor defense.

Where are Graves, Nichuskin, O'Connor?

Not a fan of trading Cole to a division rival when the same return can be had from a team in the east.

Chicago have a 4C in Carpenter so I don't see them being interested in Bellemare, especially not for a 2nd.

Dickinson as 4C is really bad compared to Bellemare. The bottom 6 looks much less tough to play against than our current roster.

Overall it just doesn't seem like a smart way to build a roster as it's very heavy on offense but a touch soft on the checking lines and defense.

I'm not missing the point, I'm disagreeing with you about how you think kamenev or oconnor would be a better choice than maroon.. kaut and bowers would replace jost and neito and possibly nuke if he doesnt resign

You are missing the point bc this is a healthy scratch, you don’t have to go out into ufa for that

Kaut is the 1st forward to daw into the line up; it’s just an unbesscary move to sign a healthy scratch

Maroon is a 33 year old winger who is a terrible skater, he’s not a fit for the avs identity

An ahl dman thrown into a soderberg dump trade and wilson who still is a much better skater than maroon.

Avs don’t play slow heavy hockey.
