Is it a cap move to get Tanner Pearson out of Vancouver ?

Coming off a season like that, I would think keep him.

Bruins reject. Why would they make that trade? Where do they play him?

Overpayment for Mittelstadt. Woo probably isn't enough incentive for someone to take Sutter off your hands.

Honestly the Canucks decline all three trades.
- Pearson played great with Horvat last year and is still on a cheap contract. They keep him and let him walk next year if they have to, or trade him for a comparably valued Dman.
- I wouldn’t give up Woo to get rid of Sutter’s contract; if it was Beagle or Roussel that would be worth looking at.
- It’s way too early to call Mittelstadt a bust, but you’re overpaying for him based on current value, especially when VAN needs to be stockpiling cheap defensive talent.

The value for Pearson is fine, but I don't know where Boston plays him. They'd probably be looking to send someone back as Pearson is a roughly $3.8 million hit and Boston will be looking to sign some of its own players. I'd think at min Boston would be looking to send Moore out. IDK would 3rd + Ritchie + Moore makes sense? I don't think it would, but Boston would need to shed some space and a spot in the forward group.

Sabres respectfully decline. Rathbone is worth a late 2nd. So two seconds for Middlestadt is probably fair value, but I think if the Sabres trade this player it would be for someone to impact their nhl roster right now. Additionally they have 3 LD prospects in the system right now and Rathbone would probably be third or fourth among that group. Two that will likely be ready to impact an NHL lineup sooner or at worst the same timeframe as him.
