You made the Playoffs nice! Now you face the winner of the round robin and likely Boston in the first round

Why would Wings take on Dubinsky contract for a 26 year defenseman who plays the one position we actually have in tip prospects?

I included Nutivaara in the deal as the Jackets need to move a defenseman. I realize that deal probably doesn't make much sense for the Wings now that you mention it. Perhaps moving Dubinsky and moving a defenseman (Murray? Savard? Nutivaara?) would be in separate deals.

I feel pretty confident Dubi is done (unfortunately). We'll probably just let him LTIRetire

You’re probably right. If not, the club will have to get creative to make it work cap-wise. Sad ending to a solid career.

don't worry, you will still technically get a 1st round loss.

What do you think the respective costs for Murray or Savard would be?

I'll be honest, I'm torn. I'd like to see CBJ land Laffy. But then a part of me wants to see CBJ win so we can all see the TOR melt down.

I have nothing against the team itself. I actually like watching them play. But it's the constant obsession of the media with them, and I really can't stand Dubas, TOR would be better off without him.

I think any sort of trade involving Ryan Murray includes conditional draft picks that can be improved by number of games played due to his injury history. When he’s healthy, Murray is probably worth a first round pick however, he would realistically fetch a 2nd or 3rd round pick with conditions attached depending on how badly the receiving team needs defensive help. While Savard is someone I don’t think management is wild about moving, I think he is someone that they consider moving based on age, contract expiration, and return he could garner. A promising young forward would highly entice the CBJ I would think. Perhaps more likely though is packaging Savard and someone like Josh Anderson for a high end playmaker.

I'm not sure why we're paying to remove Dubinsky given that he's all but officially LTIRetired.

And I'd much rather see if we can get Anderson to bounce back and stay.
