To get Lafreniere

Created by: AnyoneButTheBruins

Description
I am not saying if I would or wouldn't do this trade just wondering how people would feel about it. Laffy is an elite talent but it is also a very high cost. Is the value there in your opinion or too much? I know Bertuzzi is a critical part of Detroit Red Wings rebuild. I'm saying Coyotes win the lottery because of the HALL factor. LOL

AZ is better with Laf than 4OA and Bertuzzi imo so they say no

You don’t trade Lefreniere as that could come back and haunt you.

Agreed. Not to mention, taking on Bertuzzi and giving him a raise likely means that Arizona can't afford to keep Hall.

I don’t think anyone should trade 1st overall regardless of what they get back. Lafreniere could easily be a top 10 player in the league in the future.

I hope AZ doesn't sign Hall, doesn't meet his offensive expectations in the system there and a lower caliber guy can be nearly as good (except on the PP) for much less money

Arizona isn't resigning Hall, He wants a shot at the cup. And that's not happening in Arizona.

Then, in this situation, they might as well keep the best prospect in the draft, no?

Arizona should be one of the teams least likely to trade 1OA. All of that rhetoric about needing a superstar, they now have a competitive team for the hypothetical superstar to walk onto.
I'd love Lafreniere on Detroit, but if Arizona wins 1OA. They keep the pick.

Soooo I picked AZ as kind of a joke because of the Hall lottery winning factor. I get now that was a mistake with their cap troubles, but you guys think another team would take that or maybe we would take stepan back to relieve that cap?

I doubt it TBH.

Lafreniere is the clear cut #1. Trading out of that spot to move down to 4 has way too much potential to make whichever GM accepted it look like a fool.

I am 100% behind Detroit acquiring Stepan as a cap dump. He'd be a good center between Zadina and Fabbri, but is on a bad enough contract that Arizona would still have to send assets to get us to take him. If they won the Lafreniere lottery they might well gamble their 2021 1st, as theyve gotta believe he pushes them over the edge to a safe playoff spot.
